(By the Grace of the Gods) Slime Rancher: The Animation. It's about a wagie who gets isekai'd into a little kid who takes care of a bunch of slimes and has stupidly high brute strength. There isn't much to say since the first episode just sets everything up but it's a nice little spin on isekai even if it can be called "just a gimmick" like most isekai.
>>34801 That's not really true. It's just that a lot of isekai authors these days are amateur web novel writers who make their big break. In Rayearth for instance the fact that they're from another world is very important both in the status it grants them and how unfamiliar they are with the world itself.
>>34808 I should've been more specific, older stuff like Rayearth and Inuyasha definitely does it better because "isekai" in these instances are actually part of the plot. I'm not completely against isekai mind you, some series like Youjo Senki and The Ride-On King are decent examples because the concept of being from the present actually plays into the plot development and sometimes even gets revisited. I'm not entirely sure but isn't isekai actually a relatively new term/genre? I don't recall Rayearth ever being classed as one in the past. I just feel that a lot of these "new isekai" would've done just as well if not better as a series without the need to add that "the hero was from the present world" just so people could self-insert better.
You can always do worse than loli. There's like gay shoujo isekai, it has gotten really ridiculous. Especially in print. The design looks really cute at least.
>>34810 >I'm not entirely sure but isn't isekai actually a relatively new term/genre? In English, maybe, which is why nobody seems to understand its usage in English despite being an incredibly straightforward term. Rayearth constantly uses the term 「異世界の少女たち」to refer to the heroines. There's some narrative convenience in having a protagonist that's as unfamiliar with the world as the viewer is, so there's always at least that reason if nothing else.Post edited on 7th Oct 2020, 2:54pm
I think there is absolutely no denying it. The 'golden age of fan-subbing' is (or has been) officially over. Feels weird to live through one of these things.
>>34705 Nah my bad, I should have figured that.
>>34692 >That leaves only Erai ripping CR? They're better at it anyway. HS rips didn't even retain the very basic typesetting.
It has been dead for years. Did you just notice? Regardless, you can still find them on AB.
>>34720 I'm just grateful that fansubs remain ever-present while fansub drama has largely been forgotten.
Anyone pick up anything special yet?
>>34779 Before learning her lesson, I thought Elaina was well on her way to be raped by giant insects or something of that nature.
>>34781 You should lay off the ryona for a while. >>34779 That's how I felt about Maou-jou de Oyasumi, it's quite amazing how the mangaka is able to come up with 16 volumes of such a basic premise but on the other hand it obviously gets old fast.
Iwa Kakeru and Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear was disappointing.
Perhaps I've set my expectations too high but Maesetsu was slightly disappointing. Not exactly terrible but for an anime about owarai, there is certainly a lack of laughs especially since they were selling that aspect rather hard.
A girl that just moved into town gets baited into joining a fishy club which is struggling to stay a float with bare minimum members. This little shrimp doesn't want to join but with time she'll be hooked on it. This anime is reel fun I swear, don't cast it aside!
Here's hoping there will be a sequel in the future.
I'm going to miss this series, there's anything that could fill the void next season?
>>34651 Doga Kobo's doing Maou-jou de Oyasumi next season, and there's Gochiusa too.
>>34651 There will be a couple of cgdct SoLs as the other post mentioned but if you are looking for something iyashikei then unfortunately you might have to wait until winter, at least there will be Non Non.
Lets rock!
Pretty much my reaction when they rolled out the boyband, who I must say seem even less likable than the first ones. ep3 are supposed to win you over, not make you want to drop the show.
They may be cute, but I think putting huge plushy pawpads on your drumsticks would produce some horrible audio.
Is "69" a thing in Japan?
>>34266 Maybe?
Kyoani's latest anime is actually pretty good!
>>34577 It's just promotional material.
>>34578 I hope that's all it is. Almost feels like an out of season April fools joke.
>>31435 But it is ok.
Here's something you guys might find interesting. 5ch and 2ch's top 30 anime from 2001 to 2019
>>33941 Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan
so surprised to seed doki-doki school hours winning in '05. i had no idea japan was sophisticated enough to enjoy DDSH so thoroughly. first half of the top row is majority non-moe, 2nd half is mostly moe. was ping pong the animation really that long ago? good pic
>>34166 Are you confusing doki doki school hours for poni poni dash?
>>33831 I haven't even seen half of these...
Kissanime has died. The exact reason why is unknown. Kissanime used a legal loop hole and as far as I know, other streaming sites haven't been affected by any recent law changes, so it's a mystery. I'd be willing to bet though that one of the major western streaming sites had something to do with it. I hope this doesn't cause anybody to pay for crunchyroll or fuckimation middle men.
>>34543 >>34546 >It mostly just sits there As soon as my first archiving drive got corrupted I had to start thinking about backing up my back ups. No thank you, archiving needs maintenance and really ends up being a burden. I still generally don't stream but my ultimate solution is to just let go of entertainment media and not worry if I can't find it anymore.
>>34547 Use ZFS(/btrfs) alongside raid(-z). Or if you want to avoid thinking about it, get a synology nas which will internally take of pooling and file system details for you and just expose an smb share.
>>34545 >If you have so much data that can't be found anymore by others, you have a "responsbility" to reupload it so others have access. Just felt like saying, I made a thread for this very purpose a couple years ago here. If anyone sees this and cares feel free to use it. >>29466Post edited on 18th Aug 2020, 5:16pm
>>34547 Yea I know what you mean fighting against futility is suffocating
Believe me you will be like god
>>33001 Have you heard the story of Darth Plagueis the Wise? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvcoQ7vwr6s
痛いのは嫌なので防御力に極振りしたいと思います(Itai no wa Iya nano de Bougyoryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu)。
Remember when anime characters had noses?
>>34520 They still do.
Same isekai setup you've heard a million times before, but this time the MC has brain damage. Seriously.
Umiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii da~
>>34312 I'm watching this for Kokkoro. Some of the staff worked on KonoSuba, so that carried through in this show.
>>34492 Now that you mention it, there are certainly some similarities.
Season2 announced.
Apparently they are doing something with Di Gi Charat for this Saturday, some kind of stream show?
>>34510 Last one from official twitter
Di Gi Charat is organizing a listen-along where you listen to the "top 10" songs that you can see listed on the last image. The way it works seems to be that people will get their own CDs/mp3s/whatevers and organize on Twitter using the tag "でしこの同時再生会" which means "Deshiko's synchronized replay meeting" Apparently you also have to follow @dejiko_15th. I'm not sure why because I don't use Twitter but if I'm going to guess I'd imagine it's because the account will tell you when exactly to play the next song. You also get prizes, presumably randomly selected from the people posting with the tag. I don't know if there's anymore or whatever but the two listed in the image are a signature from Kogedonbo and a CD. That art looks cute and getting a CD/signature would be nice (assuming they ship overseas) but I don't use Twitter.
That's cool. Sounds like a fun time.
