What games can you say you've mastered and can kick anyone's butt with?

I'm the best Baldur Gate player. Haha.
>>13390 Are you good enough to venture forth before gathering your party?
Hello kind and non-judgemental image-board-goers! Please recommend some visual novels, but nothing with a super complicated plot or anything. I just want a visual novel/dating simulator with kwaii high school anime girls! Please don't judge and have a nice day!
>>13415 No, To Heart and To Heart 2 are completely separate.
>>13416 Sorry to bother you but where can I get it?
>>13417 It's on sukebei.
>>13413 I read that as Princess Evangelion. Haha.
Any thoughts on this steam competitor? https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-epic-store-wont-accept-crappy-games-says-ceo-tim-sweeney/ Seems they wont allow porn or "crappy" games.
>>13419 Its success is predicated on the gaming community giving up on its attempts at a boycott before Tim runs out of Fortnite money; that is to say, the store has a surprisingly high chance of taking at least some of Valve's pie. Probably not a majority - I doubt Fortnite money will last a decade, and that's how much time you'd need to get a generation of gamers who has not sunk hundreds/thousands of dollars into Steam.
>>13420 I'm very concerned by what they'd consider crappy games.
>>13422 GOG, another store which tries to be curated, has famously rejected Opus Magnum from Zachtronics before being pressured into allowing it after all. Might give some perspective.
Do you think coin mining is hurting pc gaming? Thanks to people building mining rigs with dozens or even hundreds of GPUs, supplies are becoming limited and major retailers are selling them at three times their original prices. This is no big deal to minners who buy them in bulk, but for average people who actually intend to play videogames $1000 for a 1070 is just out of the question.
Is Gamers Nexus a good source for info on pc hardware? https://www.youtube.com/user/GamersNexus/videos
2019.. time for a new gaming pc. **checks out Linus Tech Tips @youtube**
>>13384 Jealous. I was about to recommend Logical Incrememts, checked it out of curiosity... What the fuck happened to it? I used it many years ago as a reference for putting together my shitty computer. Looks like something went horribly wrong with that site. It looks like absolute dogshit now. It used to clearly display all the parts you'd ever need in a clear table, sorted by cost, with many variants and alternatives listed right there. Now it's all split into separate articles which look like these awful top 10 lists, complete with facebook comments underneath. Just disgusting and useless. So sad.
>>13388 At least, it's still up. Pineconeattacks is dead; it had good tutorials on console hardware modding.
EuroGunZ (GunZ The Duel) One of the best TPS I've ever played, I've been playing this in the last 10 years and this game never gets old. It's amazing all the different things you can do and the different game modes you can play. This game really needs more recognition. Global release of MapleStory 2 is confirmed. Closed beta signups have begun. Is anyone else going to play? I'm thinking I will play a ranger, but I was considering also a knight or priest. http://maplestory2.nexon.net/en There are some things you can do to (probably) increase your chances of getting into closed beta, and also get some unique items. All the ones available so far require some social media accounts though. I hope I get in. http://maplestory2.nexon.net/en/microsite/roadtrip/
I didn't get in the beta. Has anyone being playing it? Any verdict so far?
>>13221 It lagged a lot for me. There are a lot of unskippable cutscenes which I don't care about. It feels like late-stage MapleStory 1, and nothing like early MapleStory. I don't think I'll get into it very much.
>>13222 Neato, then I guess I'll skip.
I’ve been playing this for the last week or so. It’s not too bad. There isn’t a lot of grind to max your level, you can easily do it with just quests. The endgame is basically building your house. You can customize it pretty much like minecraft and upload pictures to use as skins. I’m posting this because I’m playing on the West server, and didn’t know a few guys from here were already playing on the East. If anyone wants to play, the guild I’m making for us is called Orange Planet. You should be able to find it through the guild search, but if you have any questions or want to add me as a friend, my IGN is Ekuryua. I believe the guild on the East server is just called Tohno-chan.
I would post this on /kan/ but that board only has posts from 2014 or so. Anyway, here it goes. This is the riichi mahjong thread. If you want to learn the game, refer to the OP image. If there's enough players I will set up a private Tenhou room.
>that board only has posts from 2014 or so All the more reason to give it a kick.
>>13320 That board doesn't even show up on the board list, so I guessed it would be wiser to make a thread here. Feel free to move the thread if you're mod or something.
>>13321 Fair point, I forgot it was hidden. Sorry.
>Mario, Sonic, Mega Man, Pacman, Ryu, Cloud and Solid Snake are all in the same game This might be the greatest vidya crossver of all time.
>>13294 he was in playstation all stars. easy mistake to make
>This might be the greatest vidya crossver of all time. Crossover games are generally crappy all around, most of them are nothing more than a low-effort cash-in on the franchises the characters are drawn from. Still, there aren't many other competitors for that sort of fighting game market, and Slap City is still quite rough around the edges. >>13294 You're thinking of soul caliber.
It will never top Mugen.
>>13297 Sure you KEN
What are your thoughts on it?
less of a localization and more of a memification of the original script. Why is it allowed? Nintendo's localization branches in NA/EU are made up of people from those respective regions, who are very much reddit and shitbook ford drivers and then get to impose their flavor/flavour of their respective shit into the script for it to "better fit their region for the widest audience". That audience ain't us. Better than removing entire sections of a script (generally to censor "objectionable content") and replacing it with made up bullshit that somewhat matches the animation keys and ends up being the same length as the original stuff and more easily get the "T" rating (or age 13+ in EU). Barely. Certainly not enough to consider forgiving them for butchering the game script (or, the game itself).
It's dog shit.
it's a large part of what drove me to start learning japanese and importing games. so yeah, not a fan.
SONY censoring every JP VN... *sigh*
Has anyone given this a try, with RPCS3? I hear you need a decent computer to even want to do this, and with PS3s being pretty cheap now, not to mention crackable (withholding new hardware/software updated consoles) that may be a better way to go about playing ps3 games given the ability to find an older console. Anyways, is emulation viable for ps3 games at the moment, and does it yield decent results?
So, from what I can tell I most of the problems I was running into were caused by driver crashes or other problems in windows. I haven't downloaded any other games to try out, but the two I used above ran just fine with the opengl renderer in linux. Did come across this text issue though, which happens in windows too. Since Disgaea actually ran at solid fps I got around to playing it for a while yesterday. Wanted to make sure it was indeed the fault of windows/crappy drivers by checking it with the latest version of the emulator, everything acts the same as it did before.
Is PS4 backwards compatible with any ps3 games?
>>13246 No I don't think so.
>>13246 No.
So, just finished my new setup for playing old games, running 32-bit XP SP3 (since neither seihou nor touhou would run adequately on windows 10). What are some nice, possibly obscure japanese games (better if they're in English for obvious reasons) to play? I specially have a thing for fun to read VNs.
I'd recommend Yu-No. It's an Elf game made in the mid-90's. You should be able to find a download pretty easily. Elf made great eroge back in the day. Without spoiling too much; You take the role a horndog high-schooler who gets pulled into an intrigue involving your archaeologist father, time travel, and a murderer. Two of the developers died at the same age so perhaps there's a curse. It's highly in-depth considering the period it was made in and the sex scenes are pretty nice. It's half point-and-click adventure, half-erotic VN. As such, it demands more engagement than a typical VN, you interact with the typical narrative tools found in VNs, namely the branching paths of the story, in a direct way.
>>13219 Nice, I'm gonna dl it thank you!
