What are some songs you feel have been ruined for you by mainstream media?
I can't really think of any that I didn't already hate.
Lot of classical music has been messed up for me by it's over use. Thanks to being copyright free, seems like every low budget garbage production uses the same few songs.
>>2743 Reminds me of hacks going on daytime tv to butcher flight of the bumblebee by playing it "extremely fast"
If you like electronic music definitely check out our cassette label TCR >Bandcamp https://tomscoffeerecords.bandcamp.com/ >Genres Bpm, Vaporwave, Experimental, Punk (one album) and we just got a Trance artist on (nothings released yet though)
Last.fm thread. mine is http://www.last.fm/user/gilleh
Well. Other than having Gilleh on friends and not knowing he browsed TC being a surprise, I expected to at least have a few bands in common with you guys, but I don't really do. http://www.last.fm/user/PingshuiGunpwdr

Because life jests if it tells me that there is no classic music post on /mp3/. Because even romantic and barroque compositions are classical music. Go figure.
Purcell - Ground in C minor https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIhz3Sacip4 Great use of repetition. Purcell - A New Ground https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlDmmqIyEW4&t=3643s

Since I don't see a thread for one, video game soundtracks thread. First: the final battle theme from Ys 6. This is a very electronic song.
One of my favourite games on the PS2.
Technically?
No More Heroes: Pleather For Breakfast https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aPSLqJ341g
Seems weird that /mp3/ doesn't have a thread dedicated to Japanese music. Listen to this, Sambomaster is the shit.

I love this song a lot,
>>2692 Coaltar of the Deepers is one of my favourite bands ever and all started with that song. You should listen more of their music, they touched a wide range of styles and developed a really powerful sound. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYuJReSt4Yw

A pastoral song about a girl who collects butterflies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMt7lXDQ-Yw
ITT: Vidya game music remixes. Starting off with shameless self-posting on account of just finishing this and being all overly proud of it.
Even crappy acapella is welcomed as well. I made this some time ago out of extreme boredom. Probably one of the easiest conceivable songs to do acapella.Post edited on 14th Mar 2013, 4:45pm
>>1712 aaand just for the sake of a less shitty one (i.e. I didn't make it)...
I don't remember exactly how I got to own this CD but the fact that nobody has uploaded it on youtube is downright CRIMINAL! It's got a Mappy remix that is off the wall crazy.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qHjfkElY_4 I found this some time ago. This remix probably isn't new to anyone here but I thought it was really beautiful. It amplifies all of the emotions the original conveys to me while still adding it's own spin and the lack of a whole orchestra instead favoring just the piano and violin lets those two really shine. At the risk of probably sounding like someone who is easily impressed, I felt it was very beautiful and deserves some kind of night time sky scenery above some clouds. If I was a good artist I would draw the environment it puts in my head. Visuals aside, not often do I refer to any piece of music as art but this one earned it.
Any of y'all listen to(or have listened to in the past) Touhou arranges? Any albums/people/artists/groups you particularly like? I have not really kept up with what is being released, but I remember liking this song by Shibayan records from comiket 83 back then. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6N-6IDIkqPM
I'm checked on my laptop(has all my music) and found some songs I like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNv1K-gJ-RI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhWPd-dcGgk (the cafe de touhou albums I liked) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Okczn9gxOA I've always liked Shibayan and DDBY. >>1899 yeah, it is a parody.
>>1903 >DDBY Yes! Which reminds me of BubbleRecords. Really good trance. I believe a few of his album covers were made by the same artist behind the one you posted. >TOUHOU YEAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - WHAT'S A HOUTOU? DELICIOUS? It's all coming back to me now.
フーリンキャットマーク (Fuling Cat Mark) is a circle that I think deserves a bit more appreciation. They describe their music as "Akishibu-kei", blending Akiba-kei and Shibuya-kei, or cute vocals with stylish instrumentals: 東方少女渋谷に降り立つ (Touhou Shoujo Shibuya ni Oritatsu) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzAI5y-4d_E lovery hot spring https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqhPOZCZwTc 乱反射フェアリー (Ranhansha Fairy) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXSSKTgdHF8 moon light magic~メイシャライトマジック (Meisha Light Magic) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovo5-un70tw Other circles I like that I don't see mentioned in this thread yet include Tokyo Active NEETs (jazz), Kuroneko Lounge (house), and Pizuya's Cell. It's unfortunate, but not surprising, that many of the links in this old thread are dead.
>>2677 >Other circles I like that I don't see mentioned in this thread yet include Tokyo Active NEETs (jazz), Kuroneko Lounge (house), and Pizuya's Cell. Oh yeah, I've been enjoying their arrangements lately. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxxY56lkCDo
What does TC think of those really popular American artists? People like Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, Justin Bieber, you know.
Stopped listening to pop music in the beginning of 2014. Admittedly, I like Justin Biebers' old stuff, but his new stuff sounds so repetitive, like his new song "Love Yourself". And I can't stand whoever sings "See You Again" with Wiz Kalifa, his voice is so annoying, I don't know why it's one of the most viewed video on Youtube. Maybe it's just that my taste in music has changed since two years.
Are trash.
Idina Menzel & Michael Bublé - Baby It's Cold Outside https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bbuBubZ1yE It's fine but I prefer the yandere version... https://youtube.com/watch?v=tzA_hqN2vo0

I don't know what genre it is, but I love this kind of music. Please post anything like it.
