I take it this means depressive black metal thread?

I more meant the kind of stuff that is allegedly played at Hot Topic and therefore is artistically indefensible. But death metal is cool too.

For instance (links because my computer can't handle all these embeds):
:wumpscut: - Churist Churist
:wumpscut: - Down Where We Belong
Grendel - Harsh Generation (album)
Flesh Field - Strain (album)
Zeromancer - Doctor Online
Suicide Commando - Death Cures All Pain

Any of y'all listen to(or have listened to in the past) Touhou arranges? Any albums/people/artists/groups you particularly like?

I have not really kept up with what is being released, but I remember liking this song by Shibayan records from comiket 83 back then.

I also lost track of the new releases at around C83-84. I remember that album by the cover. It's a parody if I remember correctly. I'll probably pick up the pace again at some time.

Touhou flavoured doujin music, or doujin music in general, amounts to about 95% of my music listening.

Groups I particularly like would be XL Project, Alstroemeria Records, EastNewSound, Attrielectrock, Alice's Emotion, Syrufit, Poplica, Rolling Contact, Golden Factory and Sound Infinity to name a few. There's a lot of less popular groups that I adore, but I don't have their names on my tongue as of now. Lots of electronic music. I mean, how can you resist the combination of catchy Touhou OST + the catchy nature of EDM?
>> No. 1902 [Edit]
I used to listen to touhou arranges almost exclusively, I have the entire 1.2 TB touhou collection from nyaa and would leave it on shuffle for weeks.

My top three circles would probably be Studio Syrup Comfiture, Sekkenya, and Digital Wing (video related).

My favorite vocalists are 3L, Ayakura Mei, kana, and Merami.

Some other favorites: Forestpireo, Taishi, k-waves LAB, Lost Garden, Zeroshiki Shinzan, Foreground Eclipse, Zytokine, =Neutral=, Alstromeria Records, FELT, East New Sound, Crow’s Claw, WAVE, Cool&Create, Demetori, Kishida Kyoudan & The Akeboshi Rockets, Halozy, Sound Holic, Alice’s Emotion, plus lots more I’m forgetting.

And some songs:

I've always liked Shibayan and DDBY.

yeah, it is a parody.

Yes! Which reminds me of BubbleRecords. Really good trance. I believe a few of his album covers were made by the same artist behind the one you posted.

I always find it kind of interesting when people prefer Isis's pre-Celestial stuff. Not that they're bad records, but it just seems kind of funny to me. I remember being outside a venue Isis were playing at supporting Panopticon, and this group of guys were all excited talking about how awesome it was going to be when they played Poison Eggs or The Red Sea, and how disappointed they looked when I said they probably wouldn't play anything older than Celestial. I was just thinking, "Where have these guys been?"
Good call on Silver, though. I used to be a huge Jesu fan, and that's the only record I still like now. Which is pretty disappointing, considering how mind-blowing the self-titled album sounded when it first came out.

I don't think your taste is any more of a mess than anyone else's. Or not here, at least!

Made a quick chart of what I've been into the last couple of months.

Any hardcore punk rock fans here? Especially the hardcore genre i.e. Black Flag, Flipper, early Misfits, extremely early Melvins? This whole album, especially the B-side tracks "Nothing Left Inside" "Forever Time", "Scream" as well as "The Swinging Man" have been quite relevant to my feelings as of the last few years.

Punk is great. I'm not too into the hardcore side, but I like stuff like Dead Kennedys, early Descendents (+ Everything Sucks), The Clash, Black Flag, Bad Brains, Fugazi, Minor Threat, Minutemen, etc.
Jello is my favorite musician of all time. His lyrics are absolutely genius and I can relate to a lot of the themes in his music.
Modern punk doesn't hold much appeal to me, with the exception of bands like Dangers who are one of the few that still make interesting music.
>> No. 1884 [Edit]
I like The Germs and Circle Jerks. Discharge and D.R.I are really cool as well even though they're more to do with crossover thrash.
>> No. 1885 [Edit]
My all time favorite releases are probably:

>Black Flag - Nervous Breakdown
>Poison Idea - Pick Your King EP
>Ruidosa Inmundicia - De Una Vez
>Gai - Extermination
>Big Boys - Fun, Fun, Fun...
>Conga Fury - Bullshit Disaster
>Gauze - 面を洗って出直して来い
>Nurse - ナース

I like a lot of Japanese hardcore. Also, Black Flag was better before Rollins.

Alchemy by Clive Nolan. Easily the strongest 2013 release so far and a contender the best rock opera ever produced, too. It's damn swell.

Both of mine:
Also, here's the website to generate a 3x3 or 4x4 collage of the albums you've most listened to over the past week, few months, etc., according to your activity. It's pretty cool.

I can't comment on the music taste thing but the page is a bit like he is describing not to mention whether you really are one or not you shouldn't be surprised when you get hate here when the page states you're female.
>> No. 1798 [Edit]
What an amazingly hypocritical thing for you, of all people, to say.

I can handle the fact that everyone has different tastes in music, but the fact that you have to tie your gender to your posts by keeping a link in your e-mail field and then posting garbage like >>1781 on top of it is just stupid.
>> No. 1799 [Edit]
I'm not surprised, I've been here for around two years now.
It just felt a little unnecessary. I'm not pushing anything on anybody.
Apologies for the harsh words beforehand.
>> No. 1800 [Edit]
To be completely honest, the difference in music tastes don't bother me much at all. I probably shouldn't have even brought it up and given them anything to cherry-pick out. I really am dead sick of the other shit I mentioned in >>1798, however.
