Any hardcore punk rock fans here? Especially the hardcore genre i.e. Black Flag, Flipper, early Misfits, extremely early Melvins? This whole album, especially the B-side tracks "Nothing Left Inside" "Forever Time", "Scream" as well as "The Swinging Man" have been quite relevant to my feelings as of the last few years.
I like The Germs and Circle Jerks. Discharge and D.R.I are really cool as well even though they're more to do with crossover thrash.
My all time favorite releases are probably: >Black Flag - Nervous Breakdown >Poison Idea - Pick Your King EP >Ruidosa Inmundicia - De Una Vez >Gai - Extermination >Big Boys - Fun, Fun, Fun... >Conga Fury - Bullshit Disaster >Gauze - 面を洗って出直して来い >Nurse - ナース I like a lot of Japanese hardcore. Also, Black Flag was better before Rollins.
>>1885 I have a preference for female vocals for some reason.
I used to listen to a lot of hardcore. My favorite was always Fugazi, even if they lean more toward post-hardcore. Pre-Rollins Black Flag is pretty great too. Not that Black Flag with Rollins was bad, but you can't top the manic angst of the Nervous Breakdown EP. It's nothing I care to listen to often these days. I'm not the trouble-making delinquent I used to be.
What's your favorite album released this year so far?
Deerhunter - Monomania
Been listening to The Appleseed Cast for about eight years, this is now my favorite album from them and my favorite of 2013 by far.
Alchemy by Clive Nolan. Easily the strongest 2013 release so far and a contender the best rock opera ever produced, too. It's damn swell.
MBV I think...

I'm going to post the first #monsquaz swap album here. The #monsquaz swap album is an event where each person from a group of people starts a track, given a set of samples, in a tracker (such as OpenMPT), then every round (usually lasting a day) we pass on our track to the next person as decided by the system, until (ideally) everyone has worked on every track. So it's basically an album of collaborative songs, where each song has had 5 or more people work on it. Here's the first song, "Cockery Club", written by MandraSigma, snoppkuk, bw, WASD, dusthillguy, RAMPKORV, Roseweave
"The musical telephone", written by WaR, Roseweave, snoppkuk, MandraSigma, bw, WASD, dusthillguy, RAMPKORV
"Medley of the lost benis", by WASD, WaR, MandraSigma, Roseweave, RAMPKORV, snoppkuk
"Monsquaz Park", by snoppkuk, bw, dusthillguy, RAMPKORV, Roseweave, MandraSigma
"Hook your teammates", by Roseweave, dusthillguy, RAMPKORV, bw, MandraSigma, WaR, WASD, snoppkuk
