How do you organize anime music and other Japanese music that isn't in a traditional one artist, one album format into your library? I have a very specific way of organizing music (Music > A - F > Artist > [2011] Album) which makes it difficult, so I've just left all anime music in my downloads folder. How do you organize anime music and music in general?
>>1250 This is a bit off-topic, but do you sometimes post on KC?
>>1252 Ya I started to like last week, but then I got a 5min bad for using the subject feild as a name field. So now for the first time in years I am an anonymous poster...
>>1253 Jesus Christ, how horrifying.
I try to organize my music by folders of whatever categorizes the most of the them at once. Such as doujin music, music uploaded to the net, game rips, etc. Then further categorized either by artist or source. This obviously breaks down when multiple things apply. Such as a Touhou song remix uploaded to Nico. Tags exist solely to alleviate this problem, but I'm still thinking of ways to consistently tag/categorize and view everything. At the very least, one tip I can provide is tagging Nico rips of Vocaloid songs under the album of ボカロオリジナル (Vocaloid Original). >>1251 Mind if I ask what it means to be a reproducer?
just wanna ask, what do you think of these mixes? http://soundcloud.com/lovelylove made by a friend of mine.
Let's post ambient/dreamlike music in this thread. This is a song I have been listening to every day lately. It has a truly "tohno" feel to it...
My favorite by Lustmord.
Possibly one of the best things ever made. It's a shame it doesn't get more recognition, really.
Stars of the Lid
Here is a bump from a faggot.
These guys were seriously good; I started listening to them by the end of highschol (i.e. loooooooong ago). They were dealing with The Strokes' manager for a while, then ran out of crack, disbanded, Kimya Dawson got prego (god knows by what poor soul) and Adam Green hanged with Carl Barat, maybe sharing the soap and shit.... People only started noticing them after that Juno movie, years after all was over.
"All these poses now no longer boyish made me a man, but oh! who cares what that is?"
I hope I lie. And tell everyone you were a good wife. And I hope you die. I hope we both die...
Because you can't really drive like a madman without a soundtrack. Starting off with the obligatory.
This.

Pink Floyd is going to be remastered in September along with a bunch of unreleased stuff http://www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/music/4988963/Unheard-Pink-Floyd-songs-coming
Here's an interesting concept I've heard before but never took that much interest in: Sampling. For example, taking this song
most of the music I listen to fits into this category but I always thought this song here was an amazing example of sampling. and the video is about sampling as well.
You owe it to yourself to check out this album. Made entirely from samples. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endtroducing..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lG8zTww6h4U&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmzHRGoKca0 These two songs are separate from the one I've linked to, but still a part of the album.
http://youtu.be/Thn7fYI0Vn0 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Music_Scene_%28album%29 This is another good album, most of the songs by this artist don't end as they begin, too.
Atmosphere (Hip hop) and some other members of the rhymesayers label use sampling in a bit of their songs, though that isn't the main focus in some. Really it's more in Atmosphere's older songs.
I found this interesting: http://mp3ornot.com/index.php It basically quizzes you if you can tell the difference between a 128 kbps and 320 kbps mp3. They actually updated it since I last checked; the old version was obvious, but I got this one wrong. It's hard to tell if something is distorted if the song itself is distorted.
>>849 I guessed every one of them wrong. I didn't know my hearing sucked so bad.
Got the 3 songs right the first 3 times, but started getting them wrong after that. The recording quality on these songs probably has a lot more to do with the bitrates being nearly indistinguishable more than the bitrates themselves.
Do you guys have a .mp3 of this? Does not have to be a concert recording necessarily, just the regular song. (Not embedding because I get an error.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTXO7KGHtjI

>>700 Thank you very much!
New Explosions in the Sky leaked. What does everyone think? http://www.mediafire.com/?dsbfie3r968cu5g
I enjoyed it. Not as much as the new Scale The Summit or Dance Gavin Dance, but enjoyed it nonetheless.
I really like it. I was never big on Explosions in the Sky - All of their songs of sounded the same to me. This is great, though. It reminds me of Mogwai, just with more shoegaze influence.
