Love Changes (I also put this poem up on my shrine)
We begin, the love of youth, the love of innocence
A special connection to a certain someone
Special in the heart aches, special in the butterflies
Special, for hugs and kisses with this person seem heavenly
Special just by being together, this all seems eternal
To love as a whole, and accept as a whole,
Body, mind, and spirit are one
Thus begins the love of Eros.
But something unexpected happens
For was this the joy you really wished for?
Am I wrong? Am I greedy?
Why isn't she such? Why isn't he such?
Is it you, not me, or me and not you?
Thus here is the other side of the love of Eros
Perhaps Love changes.
My love is the only reason I still live, I mean
I live to be a sacrifice.
Without this love we are consumed by greed and hatred
Meaninglessness, aimlessness, casual entertainment
Mundane joys that aren't worth living for
I shall be a sacrifice, and she shall be my goddess.
Thus begins the love of Agape.
Are you not being ludicrous? Is she really such a spectacle?
As time passes, shadows appear behind the holy light
Are they evil, are they blasphemous?
Or are they truths trying to pull you out of delusion?
Leave me be, there is no meaning in truth
There is no meaning in justice, there is no meaning in reason
Passion is my only savior, but passion becomes disgusted
The world reveals itself, and reality kicks in
Perhaps Love changes.
You are never safe, for humans are never safe.
And life constantly faces pain and death
And it is not always tragic, it is not always beautiful
It is a farce! Do not give yourself up to the pains of logic
Seek the endless, perfected purity, seek the Silver Garden
But harden your heart, focus your mind
Strengthen your body, and prepare to fight
For you have something to protect, and God is dead.
And God is dead.
Thus begins the love of Storge.
Time passes, and knowledge sets in
It aches to age and become our wisdom
She learns, he learns, you learn
How can we preserve innocence and purity when this mighty foe,
This mighty taint attacks from all directions?
If you value all of your love, if you value all of your beloved
Forget about it, forget the light and darkness you have seen in your days
And turn back the time and begin your recurrence.
Perhaps Love changes.
Perhaps again, Love changes.
