I wonder if product placements are more of a running joke in anime than anything else. Sure it's advertisement, but I wonder if Japanese viewers laugh at A&W product placements the same way a Spongebob viewer would laugh at a "my leg" joke. also, root beer is fucking delicious, fight me!

I think it's either that or adding a sense of realism to the setting, in cases where they explicitly avoid using the real brand name but want to be able to show what kind of soda they're drinking, or what kind of fast food place/family restaurant they're at.

Water or occasionally fruit juice. I don't like the smell of coffee (nor the caffeine), and I don't drink alcohol.

Beautiful design, but the foam was aerated too much when they steamed that cappuccino. It should be of a melted ice cream consistency. I would say my favorite drink would be an Americano, but it depends a lot on the quality of the beans, espresso machine, and skill of the Barista.

I would like to quit coffee and only have water. The blackness and woodiness of coffee covers up a lot of defects with the drink and preperation process that I would find unacceptable in water. Also spicing and chilling water is ironically messier and less efficient than making a coffee with a drip machine.

Black coffee, maximum strength and bitterness possible. I have hated soda and carbonated drinks since I was a kid, so I don't drink those at all. I used to drink a lot of tea, but at some point I found that it is easier to brew a pot of strong coffee than it is to prepare a similar amount of adequately strong/bitter tea.

morning Coffee to wake up
>> No. 34169 [Edit]
Since I guess this thread is now coffee central I'll say that I drink it black too but only light roast using a little more water than I need in the drip maker, it's more refreshing in the morning that way and I don't need all that much caffeine even though I still need it. But recently I got some coffee that was on sale in bulk that was a brand I liked but was a different kind and now I'm stuck with this disgusting medium roast with chocolate overtones to drink and I can't wait to finish off those bags. I'll occasionally put a capsule of yohimbe extract in there if I drink coffee later, gives a real nice buzz and they potentiate each other. Really unique feeling. Has anyone else on earth discovered this yet, I wonder cause I never seen it before. The result of dissecting one of my old favorite energy drinks and making my own perfect one out of the main stars of the show.

Fun fact: I also learned that most of the edgy, intense stimulation is coming mostly from the tyrosine and far too much B vitamins. The only exception is Redline, that stuff is insanity in a bottle and I don't care to get to the bottom of it. I had a love/hate relationship with it over the years though.

My mom raised me largely on sugary soft drinks. I hardly ever drank pure water as a kid, it was always soda, fruit juice, milk shakes, iced tea with sugar, that sort of stuff. My favorite sugary drink was cola, in particular Afri Cola.

As you can imagine, I was always a fat kid, and because I continued this habit into adulthood, I eventually developed type 2 diabetes in my late 20s.
That diagnosis was a wake up call, and since then I have been drinking mostly water, and instead of getting my caffeine from cola or energy drinks, I will usually brew some white or green tea in the evening, refrigerate it and drink it without sugar in the morning (I never much liked hot beverages of any kind).
I also made some other lifestyle changes, and managed to lose my 120 pounds of excess weight and get my blood sugar levels and glucose absorption back to normal; for now.

unless you're awake at night and sleep during the day, the caffeine will ruin your sleep quality. You're basically setting your body and brain up to age like 20% faster.
Go for some herbal tea instead.

PROTIP: Unless you drink your coffee black and without sugar, you don't actually 'like' coffee.

Coffee tastes horrible, that's why people buy those abominations from Starbucks with 3 pumps of caramel and heaps of sugary milk cream just to make it drinkable. And because it's served hot, coffee is not even refreshing or thirst-quenching.

No. I'm the hardman anon who likes his coffee black from the deepest pits of the kettle. I love me when the beans get so burnt from the roast that they get all char and create a cup of putrid oily tar thick as molasses. I love groveling down the greasy bean juice flow down my tongue and feeling as my taste buds get overwhelmed by the flavor of charred crusty dilluted bean paste as I choke on the sludge flowing down my throat. Yes, I love coffee, it's my favorite beverage!

Pfffffffffft! Fuck your shit. It's coffee, not carob! Although I can add a bit of carob to coffee and it's still fine. Or to cocoa. Though I'll admit I'm far more inclined to stick with adding coffee and cocoa to each other.

Also, you have a very one-way way of looking at that coffee mixing issue. At least coffee has a flavor that is very compatible with adding dairy. At least you can add goat milk to it. Not so for cocoa, it won't go together, even if it's three quarters coffee and just a quarter cocoa, it still clashes with goat milk. What the hell is that?

I love root beer. Here we call it 'sarsaparilla' so I'm not sure of the specific differences between those two products. I'd say that there's crossover between people who like sarsaparilla and people who like licorice - these flavours offend most of my friends, but I really love them.

There's also an Italian soft drink called 'chinotto' that is absolutely delicious. Extremely bitter but sweet, too!

We have sarsaparilla in the US too, but it's not the same thing as root beer, it's closer to birch beer.
