METAL THREAD BECAUSE THERE ISN'T ONE This one is Underwatermoon by an artist called Winterhorde, who call themselves 'Melodic Extreme Metal' which is about right because i've never heard anything quite like them. The whole album is absolutely fantastic, its easily one of my favorites. http://www.mediafire.com/?k1tk7u8ese8t5ax
Incarnia
Lyzanxia
Noumena
Old Man's Child
Powerwolf
The Project Hate MCMXCIX (Project Hate)

Amoral Old stuff is better. New singer changed the band entirely.
A shame the band ended after this album. That thing had awesome backstory, awesome production, even awesome Daniel Gildenlöw singing a whole song for them.Post edited on 30th Aug 2011, 9:28am
To nobody's surprise Mastodon's new album is great. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=smuv31cl
No Wintersun in this thread. I'll fix it. Also here's a song from their next album, that has been in production for 6 years. (crappy live recording sorry) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cet3U38l3WI
Moonsorrow.
A great song by Thyrfing
discovery of the day
God Macabre
Cirith Ungol
Pagan Altar
Manilla Road
Candlemass

Axamenta. This is not quite the best song in the album, but it's the only non-instrumental one that fits the file size limit.

Frostmoon Eclipse
Falconer.

this is crust so I guess this is the appropiate thread to post on. Skitsystem-Skitliv http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64pILspkajQ
I can't quite believe this is the band the ex-members from Axamenta formed. The vocals are my greatest pet peeve, but overall it just seems way less impressive than the album teasers, released before they found a vocalist IIRC(see http://hecamefromthesun.com/ ).
This new Vildhjarta EP is fucking ridiculous. I've hated the vocals on their other releases, and while I don't like them on this one either they are thankfully mixed much lower this time around. Daniel Bergstrom is probably my favorite metal guitarist at this point, too; I love technical riffing but never cared much for shredding.
And Masvidal does it again. New Cynic sounds like anything but Cynic, and I quite like it. Except the part about plants inventing animals, that made me chuckle.
>>1848 Ha, I wasn't expecting the line to actually BE "animals are something invented by plants". Incredible song though, Cynic has been blowing my mind since you posted them in that other thread.
Posting a classic by In Flames
Listening lots of Isis lately. I've gotten to know them quite accidentally when searching for info on the terrorist group, gotta thank them for that.
>>1735 That music video.
Spiral Architect is so technicool it hurts and the vocalist is so terribad he's good. Weirdest shit I've heard in a while.
I was searching for hungarian bands because I wanted to get a better feel of the language's sounds. So, yeah, beautiful language.
Why is everything so melodic on this board?
(Thrash) Thrash will always be the riff kings
Found those guys on youtube related videos and thought it would either be another tasteless metalcore band that wants to be technical or another djentfest that is very technical but unbearably metalcore-ish. I'm actually quite pleased. Their vocalist knows how to put a decent scream but works pretty well on clean vocals too(not too bratty, like Tesseract's or *sigh* Cynic's vocalists). They are an incredibly fun listen but also quite demanding. I feel like I went through a whole album when listening a single song of theirs.
I've been listening to Yngwie Malmsteens first 5 albums, so far Eclipse has been my favorite.

This is the story of Milunka Savić that inspired our song Lady of the Dark. Milunka Savić was a Serbian woman who took her brother’s place in the army. Partly disguised as a man, she would eventually be among the most decorated soldiers of WW1. https://youtu.be/3AsRfcrZeUE?t=194
