Oh, loads...

The biggest one is the extremely bad misinterpretation that he's yandere. This is so far from the truth that it makes me irrationally angry every time somebody puts him on "best male yandere" lists or whatever. Yandere is attractive but... to be frank, often yandere characters flatten considerably when they become such. While Keisuke did some horrible things, and love was a main motivator, he was also very clearly not himself when he was doing those things. He couldn't really help it when he was engineered to work that way. Drugs mess you up, and it also messed up his intentions: he wanted to protect and become stronger, not be a murderer. That, and he has extremely deep remorse for everything he did and a lot of people forget that he explicitly has PTSD after everything that happened. He knows what he did was wrong and there's no way to take it back and it haunts him all the time. Yandere characters... don't really have that, at least not often enough for me to be okay with the "yandere" label for him. Also, quit it with the screwdriver jokes.

On the flip side, I am very bothered when people (fujoshi) reduce him to "sweet kawaii baby" that has no agency. Yes he is a very sweet person, and gentle with those he loves, and doesn't think things through, but he's extremely stubborn at the same time. Although he was slow to act, he did stick to what he wanted to do and followed through.

Also bothered by how he's often portrayed as a stalker. Akira is his only family pretty much, of course he's going to go after Akira to make sure he's safe. Akira constantly talks and thinks about Keisuke too in the other routes, so it's pretty clear (to me at least) that the feeling is mutual, even if Akira wasn't aware of it before the end of the common route.

And like you said, lots of people get his eye color wrong, too. Why would you make his eyes blue, green, or yellow, when they're brown the whole game and anime??

I'm able to relax a little when I realize that these are people who don't know him as well as I do and never will be as close as we are.

To be honest, I never saw Marisa as anyone to be sexualized or as a sexual person. I've always thought she was a smart and hard working girl, as she's a witch. Through my experience elsewhere, I have seen the hatred for her. She's even hated at wizardchan, which is full of people who have been bullied and alone.

For me personally though, I'm amazed at how she's not giving up. I'm not exactly the most sociable guy, and I'm not really able to keep a conversation or be comfortable with one. If I were to "try to get popular" and fail, I would have given up and perhaps reflect upon what I did wrong. I appreciate her for how willing she's able to go to get acceptance.

Finally, for Kirino, I never really understood why she was called a slut or anything else. I've read the manga (which, I really enjoy mangas more than animes to be honest because it's faster for me and the pacing is usually great in mangas), and I saw the father as more of a villain than her. She's not my waifu, but I understand that the culture around otaku in Japan is not really appreciated or liked. I could recognize she had no friends with interests and she might have felt trapped knowing this. I've felt trapped before, so I know what it feels like. I'm just glad the brother was able to handle her and his father enough to make her happy. He's a really good person, and even though his sister wasn't very appreciative in the end, and many bumps were in the road, I hope he knows that he was a good brother. Good on him.

I really, really hate when people try to justify what her mother did to her. Saying it was "fanservice" or just a "girl on girl scene" or sometimes making jokes about it. Something horrible happened to her and when people treat it lightly or act like it's funny, it's very angering to say the least.

A lot of people seemingly only see Crona as a "woobie" who can't stand on his own two feet. While there's no denying that my husbando is very shy, sweet and soft-spoken (if gloomy a lot of the time), and more than a little codependent, he's also a very brave guy when push comes to shove! Too few people give him due credit for that.

Similarly, a lot of artists really focus on his madness, and his nature as an effectual self-contained weapon. Too much of his fanart revolves around it, some of which gets uncomfortably graphic. There's plenty of stuff like that, but so relatively little of the cute and fun variety (without involving shipping). I just want to see him happy, you know?

To be fair - both of the above are prominent parts of his personality, sure, but far from all there is to him!

But what gets under my skin the most is how obsessed some people are about his ambiguous gender. It was the subject of massive, constant flame wars a few years ago, and is still evidently an important matter of debate today. It strikes me as incredibly petty, to be as fixated on it as those people (everyone from dA users to *channers) are.

At least I can take solace in knowing it doesn't affect my love for him at all.

I'm sick of people constantly joking about his murder and treating his corpse like a punchline. Even fans of him, people who ostensibly "love" him, turn around and pull this shit all the time. Although there are pieces of her personality that do reflect this, as she is tsundere to a degree, she's quite different from other characters, and has a personality that I haven't quite seen in any other character, even as far as her tsundere side goes.

Honestly I have a similar problem with Kyousuke. He's portrayed so often as a sex crazed teenager in fan art. So many doujins and other images where he's fucking multiple girls/being just a deviant in general. He isn't even that deviant. He's shown to have some sexual urges but he doesn't really do anything based on those urges.

More often than not he's dismissed or turned into a generic cardboard cut out harem mc. The fact that he isn't is what made me like OreImo in the first place.

Not to mention how everyone turns him into a trophy to be won. "I wish x girl won." etc. He isn't an object to win, nor does a girl have to win for a show to be good. He's a person and his own character.

On another tangent: most characters in OreImo are viewed completely wrong. It's like people don't realize everyone makes mistakes and do stupid things. That's why I like the show so much. I guess there's also the fact that people say he's lazy when he's not lazy because he does thing when they need to be done, he'd just rather sit around and take it easy. That doesn't really get to me though and rarely do people say it.

Nothing that really lowers my mood, but if I had to say, it would be the lewds made of her. Because I love her, I don't like seeing other men fucking her, unless they look like me so I can self insert, which doesn't generally happen. But showing Remilia as submissive? That he's a mere depressive follower who was brainwashed by a sociopath, rather than having plenty of his own hatred for the human race. People tend to discount his agency in general. Don't know whether this is because of his submissive go-with-the-flow tendencies or not, but it pisses me off when people talk about saving him or acting like he didn't know what he was doing.

I hate when people project this "generic teen boy personality" onto him, forgetting that a) He was FUCKING GIFTED, smarter than 98% of earthlings, and b) a gigantic part of his character arc is him coming to terms with being FUNDAMENTALLY DIFFERENT FROM OTHERS, mentally and spiritually, to the point where he doesn't count as the same species.

I don't get these problems with erotic works of one's waifu... Of course you have imagined how she'd act in bed, right? Now, it might be enough to only imagine it, but then again, if your imagination is so strong, why's your waifu someone else's creation to begin with? The only and very slight irritation I suffer is when clearly gifted artists draw her with no concern to her character. To them she's just the girl with the horn and titties. The best art (n/sfw) is drawn by people who specialize in lewd pieces. This is because there is little incentive to "draw all 2hus" or whatever else that disregards her character when all they want is good porn. They could pick any girl, and those who pick Yuugi usually have something they like about her as a character (because, you know, you can draw massive tits on pretty much anyone).
