Oh, goodness, you really attempted on it. Well done. I was mostly trolling but, now that you got a taste of it, it could actually help you a lot if you take it forward and/or apply it to the rest of your work...
What you have now looks really good on the preview: proportions, directions and the sense of iteration are very well sugested; now, from there, think: what would happen if you zoom/analyze it even more? Say: if you took an X amount of time, patience and focusing doing that, what would happen if you re-do it now (with the experience you already have of the subject) at 2X?... And then at 3X?... 5X?... That may help you breaking limits, consistenly, step by step. It has worked for me, at least.
