Yes.
You can farm keys, then farm void drops, and then sell void drops for currency.
The goal of the game is a grind, so I don't recommend buying the currency. In fact, it will sort of hinder the experience.
First, you grind to level up guns, then you grind to get enough free currency to buy a blueprint for a better gun, then you grind materials to build the currency, then you wait 12 hours to build to gun, then you grind to level the gun up.
Then you get burned out, take a break for a few months, and when you come back, there's new content and shit, and then you can do it all again, and at a higher tenno level.
