Honestly, these boards are getting pretty bad lately. Look at /so/, look at /ot/. Is that really what you want for Tohno-chan? Poor /an/ is getting less and less posts. If I don't post on /ns/, /mp3/ or /fig/ or whatever no one else will because most threads are mine and I know that. I haven't posted in a while just to see how many people would post and this is the result. The good people are leaving and a bunch of new users are pouring in everyday posting relationshit and other crap. Just look at the front page and you will see it.

I hate it, I hate it, I hate it. I hate all of it. Same bullshit on the IRC.

I just want my Tohno-chan back to where it was and to be with the people I learned to appreciate because we were like the fingers of the same hand. I miss you. I wish Tohno and the others mods would be more present.

Forgot to add.

We need to get those stupid conflicts in the IRC sorted out. I want everyone back, every single one of my friends. Say it like it is so there are no misunderstandings.

I have to agree, it's really sad to see people care more about arguing about normals LoL women or whatever, then actually talk about stuff like anime manga ect.
I can't say I'm completely innocent though, I've replied to those people.. claimed people to be normals.. yeah I'm just as guilty as the next guy..
It's not just a problem with the site but us, the people that use it, I'd even say it's not a problem with the site at all, it is what we make of it.
and yeah, we need to do more and better moderating.. I was starting at that age thread on /mai/ for twenty minutes trying to figure out what posts to delete, because if I just delete one, the person will get pissed I deleted the others, but then there's the question of weather or not to delete everything that has the smallest amount to do with the problem.

I remember I used to be there, with the thread making and stuff, for the longest time it seemed like I was the only one making threads and keeping the place alive, it's really easy to give up on it..
I came to realise back then that it's imposable for a small community to have a regular flow of threads and posts.

People don't post in old threads, and the average person might only make 1 thread a week, if ever, so it makes for some really slow rates.
but hey, at least we're faster then that other site right?

I've been wondering if there's even really that many 'good' users out there, there's a endless sea of /b/tards and channers out there, but how many bros are out there I wonder?
We're catering to a very small minority with this site, can't really expect for it to be booming with good like minded users..
but I do really wish people could as least try to fit in if they're new, not post about stuff that would upset people being lurking at all, and the people should know better then to get into arguments with them, if someone makes a post saying they're a 15 year old girl and have a boyfriend that linked them here, what's to be gained from saying anything to them? all you're going to do is ruin any thread it's in, just report it and wait for the staff to delete it, by replying to stuff like that, you make us also delete your post, or leave your hateful argument filled post linking to something not there anymore.

I might be hard to believe, I know I never believed it when I saw site admins say it, but I am here every day, and I'm pretty sure I've posted at least once a day for the last few months, sans that two week or so when I pissed about content I didn't want to see.. which I wont get into, and that day when I tried not to use my computer or tv all day...
Anyways, I'm here.. I just usually post as Anonymous, don't want people reading to much into my casual posts and like miss quoting me latter and or using it against me, you know?
Back on /a/ and /jp/ no one gave a rats butt what I had to say, but here I need to watch my wording a bit more is all..

Thanks for responding.

People left because of LoL (I think that was the most recent thing?). It's annoying for the people that don't play because LoL players will chime in randomly with conversations about the game and the rest of the chan cannot participate/understand and then it goes on and on. Although I feel like we shouldn't make it that big of a deal because some people "enjoy" playing a game and discussing it on the channel. We're just raising walls between us this way. It would be much better to find an arrangement that is good for both parties. And honestly, the chan can sometimes be pretty dead without Tohno or Desu (Unfreedo tries the best he can to spark conversations though) because they have always things to say. So obviously when it's dead the users will be inclined to talk about LoL or whatever else.

>>366
You are right, ultimately the site is only what we make of it. We just tend to forget it and complain about the threads that get made but won't do those threads that we'd like to see instead. I guess I should do my part of the job and not get so lazy.

I really appreciated the slow pace of the board we had. We got to discuss things calmly, go back and read threads, do some witty stuff, have fun together etc. Now it seems like we're in a rush and discussing all that uninteresting 3D world crap and getting into fights.

Regarding moderation I'm no one to give you advice but in my opinion you're doing fine. Maybe the moderation team could come together and set some rules into stone so you really know what you want to do/see/not see in the future if something arises. But honestly, I can't complain. I understand your position as mods and admins that you don't want to influence users with your names so posting as Anonymous is valid as well.

So yeah, I can safely say most people appreciate and value your work on this site we can call home. Let's just give it the direction we want and try to make users fit into the Tohno-chan mentality because I feel like we're slowly losing it.

Yeah I really miss the slow pace also, I miss the days when I could hold my head up high and say with confidence we had no trolls or fighting.
now looking at the boards, there's more bickering then anything else.
it would be nice if we could agree on some rules.. but I've already said to much about that..
I just really wish people would A learn not to say unnecessary things that can and will set people off in the first place.
http://tohno-chan.com/an/res/2446.html#4064
like this for example, it's not "bad" but it's going to derail the tread it was posted in just because of that unnecessary sister comment.
People do this all the time with rule braking stuff and stuff that just pisses people off, and they complain like in this thread
http://tohno-chan.com/ot/res/7170.html
Anyone could have seen the train flying off the tracks from the second the thread was made.
people need to be more observant of their posts, be it using a /b/ related image, or casualty slipping in a personal relationship line.
it's just common sense.

Also, I'd like to thank you for making this thread, you've made me realise I've been really lazy lately, and started posting a lot more, I haven't really noticed before, but /ot/ and /so/ really shouldn't dominate the front page.

oh and sorry for not replying sooner, saw the thread but wasn't sure what to say.

I also wish people could not be so serious and dramatic about site related things and learn to relax.

imageboard content is created by the imageboard's userbase. if you think that the board is different now than it was in the past thats probably because the userbase changed. have they changed in composition or in character? maybe the "better" users found a different website they like better or maybe a significant fraction of them were banned or maybe they've become afraid of posting lest they be banned or maybe they don't make up a significant fraction of the population anymore do to new users on the site.
figure out what the "problem" is and maybe you can fix it.
when did you notice that thing were changing? what happened shortly before that time which may have instigated the change?
i've seen a lot of formerly good imageboards take a turn for the worse and its almost always permanent, but not because you can't "fix" a web site, but because the people in charge are almost universally unwilling to admit a mistake.

another good reason to not post is that its somewhat likely to be waste of effort if the moderators delete a lot of posts. i have one site i visit somewhat regularly, but i almost never post because of that effect and i certainly never put any effort into posting. on other sites i sometimes type up well researched interesting stuff or make original photoshops or drawings. i still dont know why i do that, i'm not getting paid to do it and once i've come up with the idea and imagined it in my head it seems like no benefit at all to me to work on the final product cause i already know what the final product is going to look like…also i hate it when i feel like i'm the only person outputting effort to make an imageboard good, i feel like a chump, its why i stopped using 4chan in 2008. i look at it a couple times a year and it seems like there are a few thousand people postingreposting and maybe two or three suckers actually making anything interesting.

Been here coming on a year, and I have to ask:

Has it always been so... predatory here?

I mean, I know the motto here is take it easy, but I see a lot of the user base becoming more and more snarky, and especially singling people out, namely nameusers. It's in the IRC but it's spilling out onto the boards as well.

I'm not complaining about it when I'm receiving, but when I see others receive this, especially from anon posters, it really irks me. It's like there's a team of instigators on this site with some sort of motive.

It's funny when Ayu does it but it's becoming too much of a pattern to not be a thing. I feel like I'm on... no, no, I shouldn't say that.

It's only when you're around people go into asshole mode, Shinden.
>> No. 472 [Edit]
>>471
No, it happens just as often in threads I'm not even anywhere near, or boards I don't post in.

People can also be assholes to each other in the IRC when I'm lurking under a pseudonym. I've considered that my presence could be just making everyone angry but it's not the case, because there's the same caustic interaction in threads and the chat when there is no evidence that I am there, and I am far from being the only one to catch a lot of flak for stupid things.

People around here have a nice thing going, and want to protect it.
You can't blame them for being defensive.

who you can blame are people like tohno, who are always saying stupid offensive shit and acting like a faggot.
Guy also starts fights on /TC/ all the time while posting under the Anonymous handle

I feel almost proud with how much this site has grown. It used to be some place with only 20 users, and everyone complained about how slow it was all the time. Its got so many users now, and there are so many useful functions I don't see anywhere else. Sure, the quality slipped, but not THAT much, we've done a fairly good job keeping the quality up. I'm glad that this place exists, a place where I can say what I actually mean and not get attacked for it, hell, even to have people agree with me, a place where I feel at home.

What's with all the bad posters lately? Posting this here because posting it in a "public" board would cause those people to respond
