After seeing the immense popularity of the what bugs you thread, I decided that I would make a thread for people to post all the awesome things (big or little) in life that simply make you happy. I understand Tohno-Chan has a lot of gripes and resentments, but we cant all be negative all the time. After all, what is negativity if we have nothing to compare it too?

I like finally being able to afford my own apartment, no roommates, no family, just me in a comfortable space surrounded by my own stuff and my own life. I like being able to hang around on my day off, work on projects, surf the web, play games, or do whatever the fuck else I feel like doing, just relaxing and enjoying the freedom to be as strange as I want to be in my own space.

Also, cute lolis.

Rainy days or cold days make me happy, they make me feel so comfortable and nice, especially if I wrap myself up in a blanket or a comfy sweater. I am always a lot more angry and stressed out in the warmer months.

The warmer months bother me some too, I think it's because the winter months are not very harsh where I live though. Even in the winter I don't go out in many layers.

Winter is nice, Fall is too.

There is a tree nearby that looks particularly pretty in fall.

Looking at the stars at night. I know it sounds clichee and shallow but I still like it a lot.

I also like it when it's really cold outside and the air smells different than usual at night. It's especially easy to notice when there's fresh snow, but even without any snow right now the air kind of smells different than in summer. It comes with the cold temperatures. It's probably some sort of bacteria in the air, like with the smell in the air after rain or after mowing the lawn. Anyone know what I mean?

It's probably just the lack of humidity. The air feels crisp.
I like drinking good beer/whiskey/gin, walking at night, talking with mai waifu, hitting nitrous, and making and eating good food.

I like winter. It's nice.

The snow here is also nice

Oh boy, here we go.

I like:
- rubbing my face into my pillow
- hot showers
- drinking at the lower of side-by-side water fountains
- laying on the floor on my back
- turning down requests to sign petitions
- waiting for my toenails to be really long before I cut them
- not using my primary hand when I drink or brush my teeth
- discovering obscure things on the internet in unlikely or unusual ways
- romantic subplots in stories that are not primarily romance

I know what you mean about the smells of the outdoors. I have a keen sense of smell and it's a very strong emotional tool for me. Many smells are nostalgic or remind me of particular things.
I very much miss the wet smells of spring and the sappy scents of fall. Reminds me of when I was a kid and did stupid shit outside.
>> No. 26219 [Edit]
I also like the winter, and going in my back yard in general when it's cool, it's really relaxing. In fact, I think that's just a general trait of recluses.

Things that personally make me happy are daydreaming about my continuous story, and of course music, maybe Castlevania or Silent Hill music. I also love Castlevania 64, especially the speedruns, Cosmo's runs are amazing. Watching those really relax me for some reason, I could watch that game be played all day. I also program and draw sometimes, not as much as I should though.

Snow, rain, frozen yogurt, having self-esteem for a little bit before it shrivels and dies, salsa with chips, chili dogs, fish sandwiches, cats, finding good stuff at garage sales, Saturday morning donuts with pigs in the blanket, actually good pizza (none of that Papa John's garbage), Kirby games, being able to like things without getting hate for it, sleeping late on rainy days, having a good run in otherwise difficult weather, voices that sound nice, and really soft things.

Why do you think people like Korean drama instead of Japanese ones? Is it because the Japanese are more ugly than Koreans?
>> No. 33075 [Edit]

From a genetic stand point that makes no sense since they're so close. Plastic surgery is more popular in Korea though, but looking at the actors, they seem the same. Maybe it has to do with licensing.

In San Francisco there is a sugar tax, so if you buy a 20 pack of soda, it's like 2 or 3 dollars more expensive to buy the one that isn't diet.

This paper looks into why Korean pop music reached international notoriety where Japanese pop music declined; perhaps drama shares some of those reasons.

I hate the stupid laws that SF and Berkeley enact to "virtue signal" progress. Diet soda just substitutes sugar for aspartame which has its own set of risks and side effects. Not to mention the plastic straw bans.
>> No. 33081 [Edit]
>>33077
I don't see how that helps. After all, it doesn't change the price of the "diet" version. Plus, for soda, ice cream, and a bunch of other stuff, I don't mind eating all that sugar. It's a treat after all.

>sandwich bread and ketchup that doesn't contain superfluous sugar

I think it's pointless. These things are by their nature chock-full of saccharides, no way around it. Even if the label says the product contains less simple sugars they're still going to be bursting with other sugars and starch and shit.

If you're really worried about consuming too much sugar you should consider limiting eating things like bread in favour of stuff that's actually low in carbohydrates.
If you don't care that much then why pay extra just for a marketing trick? I see no benefit in buying such 'fake diet food'.

I'm not a health freak or anything. The biggest reason why I dislike the extra sugar is because it ruins the taste of, for example, the sandwich bread, ketchup, and peanut butter.

American Italians or Italy Italians, because what they eat and the way they eat it is not the same.
>> No. 33093 [Edit]
>>33088
Sure. About two thirds of us are overweight, across all of Europe. What I meant was not that Italians are unusually fat, just that they're also as fat as us.

The differences between 'national diets' aren't that big anymore. We all stuff our gobs with the same shit. Same 'imported' internationally popular dishes, fast food, sweets, snacks, soda, beer. Local cuisine got overtaken by the global favourites.
But I think even before globalization food in most regions was based mainly on cereal and starchy vegetables. That's what agriculture was always focused on, probably everywhere. But today barely anyone gets enough daily activity to eat all of that high energy food and not get fat.

Could be the only thing Europe is united in is obesity. We grow fat together, that should be our motto.

I don't know how we compare to the USA.

>>33091
Carry on then. Personally I can't tell the difference.

>>33092
