So, I'm starting to teach myself the guitar. What are some anime/game tunes that are easy to play and have learning materials available?
this one is easy to play and you'll probably recognize it http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/e/evangelion/cruel_angels_thesis_tab.htm

I know Tab but this mess of numbers means nothing to me.
the top row of the tab represents the bottom string of the guitar the number represents the fret that you play the note on, each number being a seperate note. this tab is simply a sequence of single notes.Post edited on 31st May 2011, 2:15pm
>>1031 Ohh. That makes a little sense. Thank you.
>>1031 So it is more like plucking or picking than strumming, yes?
>>1036 In this instance. If you see tabs with multiple notes at the same time, it's probably strummed.
>>1036 oh, yeah you would play that by picking, i learnt on electric guitar, i found playing songs like this easier to start off with. if you want to strum something you'd need a tab with chords but i cant think of any beginner ones off the top of my head
Hi OP, I'm not sure if you have watched Angel Beats or not, but you can give 'My Song' sang by GDM (a band from the anime) a try. It's pretty easy, the chords are simple too. You can try figuring out the strumming patterns yourself, it's not so difficult. http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/m/misc_unsigned_bands/girls_dead_monster_-_my_song_crd.htm I've also attached a video of the guitar cover of the song. Hope this helps.
I have another one for you, it's based on a game called Gitaroo Man. I've embedded it for you, it has some pretty sweet tunes. It's also great for beginners. Try figuring out yourself on how to read the tabs. There's 2 different tabs for this one, I suggest you pick Guitar 1's tabs for it. Good luck practicing it! And do not give up!
Look up a program called Guitar Pro. You can import MIDIs (like from vgmusic.com) to learn how to play songs. The MIDIs aren't written for guitar tabs normally, so you have to fiddle around with them a little to make them playable. And the people making them get them wrong sometimes. But it's a hell of a lot better than nothing if you can't learn by ear yet.
Fake Wings sounds easy
I used to have music therapy, where I played an acoustic guitar and the only song I ever could play, was this: https://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/nathan-evans/wellerman-chords-3530237 I kind of didn't like the song to begin with, but repeating it ad nauseam made me really dislike it. >05/31/11(Tue) Oh, damn. OP is probably an expert guitarist or isn't interested anymore by now, but maybe this is helpful to somebody else.
