I'm using bluestacks as well, what I did was to use tunnelbear. If the playstore doesn't detect your region as japan, clear your cache and data for google playstore, services and services framework after having tunnelbear installed on your bluestacks then set your region to japan before opening playstore again. Note that this won't work if you have an existing payment method added to your playstore account although I doubt anyone would do that on bluestacks.

I also took liberty of skimming through /vg/ and it seems there is an ongoing translation of the game and a guide.

There haven't been any actual Friends that I wanted very much with the exception of Shoebill which naturally I didn't manage to get despite splurging all my sparkles on. The 4 stars I managed to snag are Sand Cat, Alpaca and Silver Fox. Arai has ridiculously high defense, I hate having to face her and always actively avoid her.

From what I've heard from others the game has crazy bad odds for 4 stars. I'm guessing that's because there still aren't many yet. And yeah I hear you on the shoebill, went for that myself. Did every mission in her event collecting those sparkles and blew them all too.

My only real complaint is that there is no actually viable way to get sparkles besides paying for it. I don't play other mobages but I would assume it's just how the system works to prevent people from grinding to get what they want.

Yes, there are rank-ups and 4 star Friends can reach a maximum of 6 star as compared to 5 for the other Friends. There have been two updates so far that upgrades two non 4 star Friends into possibly ranking up into 6 stars, the Southern Tamandua and the Californian Sea Otter. Would you mind posting your id?

You should try to do the event quests first, you can pick one of your Friends and said Friends will receive a huge exp boost on the event quests marked with an arrow. You can easily max out a Friend's level this way. Note that completing any of the event quest locks out that Friend you have chosen for the entire event, meaning you can only receive the level up boost for that one Friend so choose carefully.

I don't play any other right now but I used to play Fate GO, I think you could get one premium currency a day and needed 30 for a ten pull gacha. KF allows 10 per day through a daily and needs 250 for a ten pull gacha, so it's about the same. Both games also give premiums as event quest rewards so there is that too.

When you roll duplicates you get an item that is used to upgrade the slots. It's the bluish octagon with a character's face on it. You can see how much you need for a character if you click on the right most tab that says（フォットポケ）on the character's screen in the upgrade menu. The higher a Friend's level is the lesser you need.

It is, I wish they would implement more features to interact with the Friends though. The HQ itself feels rather cramped. I don't know if I'm the only one who was slow to catch up but I realized rather late that you can actually pat your Friends in interaction mode.

Seems like there are quite some heavy/important plot reveal in the latest story mode chapter but my japanese isn't good enough to completely follow it through.

The gist of it is that they are basically going almost the same route as ep.11 and 12 of the S1 anime with Dhole taking the place of Kaban. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing and the writing has been on the wall for a long time anyway. Can't help but feel like Serval is being sidelined in place of Dhole, which is again perfectly normal considering Dhole is the protagonist of this iteration and these things also happen in other series. But I guess the effects of what happened after S1 somehow muddied my perspective of the situation. I feel sorry for both Dhole and Serval somehow.
