Because there is no /tg/ on Tohno-chan, we'll talk about it here.

I don't know how many of you are into TRPGs, but I figure that you're the kind of folks who might be interested in it, and I'd like to have the opportunity to have some fun with you guys. Escapism is the name of the game, here, and TRPGs have been a big hobby of mine since I was a boy.

I don't think you will, but I'll delete this thread if it fills with edition wars or some other nonsense.

I have my own IRC channel for those who like to IRC. irc://irc.rizon.net/jaelaismoe

If you don't know what a TRPG is, exactly, I'd be happy to explain it to you.

Ah, this thread is highly relevant to my interests. I've been a D&D fan since early High School, and played a bit of WoD. In addition, I am intersted in (Though haven't played) Shadowrun, Deadlands (It's depressing, I even went so far as to make a character for a campaign that never even got started), BESM, Call of Cthulhu, Rifts, The Wheel of Time Roleplaying Game (I -technically- played this before, but I was 14 at the time and barely remember it), and Witchcraft.

It's nice to see another /tg/ lover on Tohno-chan.

All very good games, my friend. Get after Strands of Fate. Great system, great ideas. Could use some better editors, though. Also DC Adventures. Despite the name, I've mostly seen it used to make touhous

I've never played any TRPGs before but I have always wanted to try.

I think you all should be more excited about playing a TRPG. The most fun I ever had on /a/ was playing MRPG with a bunch of anons back in 2008. I mean, what other game can have Captain Picard as a master with a bunch of combat maids aboard his spaceship serving him, and fighting off space demons. Not to mention investigating space ruins and activating ancient space robots to become space mecha maid pilots.

This game is too awesome for us not to play. I even still have the character sheets/booklet saved.

I will be running an introductory adventure using Dungeons and Dragons Essentials for the first six interested people. It will be a level one adventure, and I will provide you with everything you need to play. Pregenerated characters are available on request, and while the adventure itself is a learning experience, I will also be available to answer any questions you might have.

Experienced players are welcome, but newcomers are preferred.

The adventure will be held on the first available Saturday after preparations, starting at 5:00PM Central Time. If you do not have free time, please refrain from applying, or let me know ahead of time so that I may pick a better timeslot.

Even though it's the only TRPG I have ever played, so I don't know how it ranks with others, I must ask, why must you deny me my meido RPG?

Maybe if you can assure me that D&D can get as badass as Captain Picard living with five maids in outer-space battling space demons and stumbling upon space ruins and activating ancient space gundams to become space mecha maid pilots battling space tentacle monsters, then I will throw my lot in with you.

Pic slightly related.

I suggest D&D because learning to play D&D is like learning to drive a manual transmission. If you learn to drive stick, you can drive any car, and if you learn how to play D&D, every other game on the market will make that much more sense to you.

As for your premise, a D&D game can do this sort of thing, particularly when you get into the Paragon and Epic Tier of play, where your power rivals cosmic beings.

Okay, I'm in, but if we play on this Saturday, that's Christmas, and that won't work for me.

That's fine, the holidays are important after all. You can head to my IRC channel if you want to ask any questions.

I might head over later, but you have to promise me I get to be the little girl.

Yeah, do we fill out our character sheets or role for stats or something?

When you have time, just head over to my IRC channel and I'll distribute materials and info. If it looks like you're having a hard time getting there, I'll also upload some stuff to /ddl/. Party of getting ready for D&D is getting to know the people involved, and we've got some time anyway.
