An otaku takes home a 1/6 scale figure only to discover she's alive.
Preach it brother!
This is pretty great.
Good god this was hilarious!
It makes me happy to see a series like this with an otaku MC and basically directly acknowledge 2D love. Not only becuase shows about being an otaku are few and far between but because it feels all the more relevant to folks around here. It sorta came out of nowhere too, I expected the "keep it a secret from Nona" plot to go on longer and didn't expect romance to play any part at all. After that I sorta got going in more ways than one, specially with the scene him and his pal eating at the restaurant. Not only was the setting there hilarious to me I thought it was a bit endearing and I might even say relatable how he responded to criticism for Nona and her series, as I could see anyone else responding in a way like that be it about their waifu or not. It's a massive bonus to the show that he's actually dedicated to her.
Livin' the dream
With this sort of thing possible brings up a lot of questions about the future of this series.
>>32848 Yeah that was pretty surprising. It really opens up a whole new world of opportunities, in more ways than one.
What kind of rpg shows character measurements in it's pause menu?
It's strange how amazing this is.
This is an anime that I think most people who browse TC would enjoy and relate to on some level. If you're reading this I highly recommend giving this anime a chance. Each ep is just half the normal length, so it's not a big time commitment.
It's unfortunate that the latest episode seems to be setting up some sort of isekai plot (although I guess the entire premise of the show is some sort of reverse isekai?)
>>32861 I think it'll probably just be a one time/ep thing (hopefully). So far this anime is taking a lot of twists and turns and mixing things up with each ep, and there's still more characters to get to with not that many ep left. At worst I predict the isekai thing will last for half an ep at worst. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if they gloss over it and move on right away.
Cute
>>32862 His buddy from the restaurant holds the rest of the plot anyway, so I'm sure it'll be just a one ep thing.
>>32856 I ended up watching it because of this post. It's really fun to watch. Well worth it, and I almost would have missed out on this.
The release time for this show really is just about perfect.
I haven't gone back and looked to check if the voices are the same but if I had to guess she's with the other dude from the restaurant.
She's only been around for two episodes and she's already outshining the main girl.
What games have trick unbeatable bosses?
Call it nitpicking but I think it would have been a nice touch if these girls were 2D when shown in their own world.
>>32903 Demons Souls and Paper Mario are the only ones that come to mind
I want to say there's no way a fig as plane as that with a generic pose would sell for that much... but with the current state of figs I wouldn't be surprised.
Would have been nice if they had made use of stereo for the whispering scenes. I wouldn't complain about getting some ASMR every now and then in anime.
>>32912 I was expecting as much and was surprised they didn't. Real missed opportunity.
How would he even be spun as an antagonist anyway?
The last couple ep felt a bit lacking, but 07 really picks things back up again. It reminded me why I fell for this show. >>32935 I'm not really sure. I think it was mainly meant to be a surprise reveal. It does seem like his character design implies he's supposed to be an antagonist but like you said I really don't see how. Maybe he's developing a mini army to take over the world?
This is interesting, something a lot of people with a waifu have to think about as well. Hopefully they don't mess it up with this.
I wonder if this is in part way a reference to how some collectors are known to store figs in refrigerators to remedy or prevent oil leaks.
>>32962 There's oil in them?
>>32993 It's a component of the PVC. It keeps the material from getting too brittle. Without it figs would crack and break more easily. When exposed to high temperatures over a length of time(or if it's a poorly made fig)it might seep out onto the surface producing a sticky residue that makes the fig look like it's sweating. In my experience this phenomenon is more common with older figs, mainly cheap trading figs.
Well ep 11 was certainly anti climatic. Also TRAITOR! Especially after >>32856
A bit convoluted it got here, but really it wasn't a bad ending, and I'm not sure if the show intended to take itself seriously 100% in first place. I wonder how it compares to the manga.
OVA incoming.
If it's the power of love, why's that little guy moving? Who the hell loves him?
>>33010 Maybe collateral since he and nona were in the same box.
I've been wondering. People keep comparing Nona to mega man, but I'm pretty sure she's supposed to be Kosmos from xenosaga. Right?
>>33010 The anime skipped that part, actually it skipped quite a lot of non-essential parts. You should give it a read, it's actually pretty short.
>>33033 I started reading it but it seemed like a 1-1 adaptation (just with more nudity) so I didn't keep up with it. Does the manga really go into stuff the anime doesn't?
>>32995 Off topic but can it be cleaned? I never experienced it with plastics, I never had any figures though. I get similar damage with rubber, rubberized non slip coatings, stuff like that. Shit's turning back to raw latex. Digging through old stuff I found some binoculars that look like they were dipped in a bucket of glue. I've no idea what to do with them.
>>33035 It's a little sticky but nothing you can't wipe off with a damp cloth. Here's a photo of a figure I've noticed has this problem. It's not supposed to be this glossy, and that's because of the oil leaking.Post edited on 2nd Jul 2019, 7:39pm
