i guess i should have mentioned i've just watched the first season of kaiji, im three episodes into lain, seen just three of the four arise ovas, and finished the first season of psychopass. like i said, im starting my anime adventure and haven't been on it for long. i was told that lain was an anime masterpiece repeatedly from several sources so i decided to start it despite being set in highschool.

In his defense, demographics is a good way to see if a series is like to be somethign you enjoy. For instance in many shoujo a large part of the appeal comes from ogling sexy men, which as a straight man obviously doesn't appeal to me.

Call me naive but it doesn't seem like trolling to me so much as someone wanting to see what TC's taste would be. I can probably find tons of places to ask for anime recommendations but I'm sure they'd just point me towards the same stuff they always do for everyone like a broken record (clannad, attack on titan, elfen lied, boku no pico etc ). i've been off this site for more than two years now and came back out of idle curiosity and found this old thread i made when i first came here.

i like the insight that a lot of the anime fans here have into shows and found many users have taste parallel to my own, but found the community to be somewhat toxic (if you don't follow wizard-chan rules here everyone loses their shit) so i decided to stop coming to this site and started looking for friendlier communities. i return here out of idle curiosity today for the first time in more than two years to find my thread reawakened from the dead. the level of coincidence is almost shocking.
