This ep made me realize I don't know what's going on with the coup attempt, at first I understood the generals were each trying to take over for themselves, now it seems they have put their differences aside to eliminate the larger threat of Oshutoru and the princess, but some pieces still don't fit:
- They haven't done anything against the general of the left. He seems a bit conflicted since we were never shown him opposing Oshutoru's execution, but he was pretty clearly his buddy and it really doesn't make much sense to let him in the clique.
- Same for Rurutie and Atui's fathers. Both of them were known to be cooperating with Oshutoru's right hand man, and yet they just let them and their fathers free passage into the palace and the meetings?
- Wasn't Rurutie's father a general? One would think as a feudal vassal and general his liege's death would force him to head to the capital no matter what, so where's he?
I'd expect lots of other feudal vassal's and neighboring rulers to attend to the Emperor's funeral and eventually try to make their claims on Yamato too. Even if the generals are completely OP there's only 7 of them now, of which 1 is more of a hindrance than anything, 2 who have their own lands to tend to and the remaining 4 can only do so much to stop border clashes when they are fighting to secure their own position in the capital.
Anyway, the episode was still nice and I'm betting is loads of fun in the game too. Too bad the fuckers at aquaplus are not western weeaboo pirate-friendly and only released it on unemulable platforms.
