What songs remind you of your waifu?

I have many such songs, including "Manic Monday" by The Bangles, "Melt with you" by Modern English, and "Just The Way You Are" by Bruno Mars.

But a new song I've discovered recently nearly brings me to tears, not only because of how beautiful it is, but because it reminds me of how much joy Osaka brings to me.

So listen up, my brothers, to this wondrous tune...

Every time it pops up in Winamp, I can't help but hum/sing along to it.

I have a playful waifu. When this song comes on, I imagine just the two of us, goofing around and having fun. For me, it doesn't get much better than that.

Beethoven, huh? I'm in love with Moonlight Sonata.

My ode to Erica would probably be Storm, by Devin Townsend (of whom I am somewhat of a fanatic). The lyrics are incredibly relevant to us.

Dude, I've got too many to list. Hell, I've got several playlists devoted to my Miya. Going to try and pick the most...relevant one.

"In heaven, everything is fine, in heaven, everything's alright" ModMaus is such a solid band.

I see this as a "Miya song" because of that central theme of saying "goodbye" to the normal world, and I've always viewed Izumo as my idea of heaven - It's where I want to be, more than anyplace else. She really is some sort of goddess to me, and her dingy boarding house is my heaven...
The song has that beautiful tranquility that I tend to associate with Miya. That peaceful chime of the guitar at the end gives me visions of being held by her at the end of a long day, watching the sunset together...

Well the first song that reminds me of her is of course "our" song which is "Natsu No Nichi ni Youkoso" from the Welcome to the NHK OST.

Then there is "Main Theme" From the Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei OST

But there is one more, which would be this one.

Given that I listen most of the time to music of the Red Army Choir or soundtracks from Modern Warfar 1, Modern Warfare 2, Crysis 2, C&C Generals and C&C Red Alert 3 as well as others music such as "Konnigratzer Marsch", "Johnny Comes Marching Home", "Bomb Run" (a soundtrack from Dr. Strangelove), Grabbag (soundtrack from Duke Nukem Forever) and "Europa" (by a band called Globus), I have almost no time to listen to romantic music. I cannot consider the music I mentioned as something to remind me of my waifu as those are too "aggressive" for her. Though I do listen, I only know very few as it is not my personal preference, but if there is one music that reminds me of my waifu, it would be this music:

Revisited this album (De-Loused, not Something Outta Nothing - I revisit that about every day).

I forgot how much this track reminds me of Miya. From 5:30 onward, it turns into the single most beautiful piece of music I've heard in heavy, guitar-based stuff. Whenever I hear that part, I'm just graced by the feeling of being taken into her arms.

I love this track because it reminds me of both sides of Miya - The charging, no-nonsense "Hanyaa of the North" that can sink battleships vs. the benevolent, kind-hearted, warm landlady. I feel like she'd like the more delicate part of the song as well, mainly because I can't see her jamming out to Rodriguez-Lopez's wankery-doodly-da-da-da. Then again, I can't see her enjoying the slow-burning wavy riffs.

I can totally see her liking something more delicate, but angular. Like, say School Food Punishment or Bloc Party.

This video is awesome. The vocal melody really gets stuck in your head.

This first Ours album was one of my favorites when I first saw Haibane, and after forgetting about it for a few years I rediscovered it a few days ago. I love how certain music, anime, books, and the like can become so intertwined when you take it in at certain points in your life. And then when you experience them again years later, everything comes back to you.
Anyhow, this song in particular always made me think of Reki.

"Maybe it was my fault and I deserve to be upset, maybe the price of being wrong is a lifetime of regret.
So please tear up my memories into a thousand little parts and give them to somebody else so that they won't tear up my heart.
Box up the hopes I had to change, I don't want them around.
Strike a nail into the coffin and put it in the ground.
If a confession's what you want, I'm happy to oblige. Sing it from the mountaintops, I know the truth's a lie.
So throw me to the lions to give them a bitter meal.
An eternity of hurt couldn't compare to how I feel.
Or lock me up forever, I won't put up a fight.
I tried to steal a little love from life, I know it serves me right.

More-or-less the entire song sums up my feelings. Coming home everyday to her, living for her, and well being with her. She makes me glad to be alive.

The most remarkable thing about coming home to you is the feeling of being in motion again,

Pictures of You from The Cure is much more fitting with the waifu concept in my opinion. You are right though, almost anything love related from The Cure reminds me of her.

On another note half of the bands I listen to are metal, not this shit that teenagers like but stuff like Equilibrium or Negura Bunget so it is kind of hard to think of love and stuff like that while listening to that kind of music. I do remember though that Limbs from Agalloch made me feel extremely sad almost to the point of crying one time because I thought of how I could never be with her during the opening part of the song. But the subject matter of the song has nothing to do with that kind of stuff. I really like music with a cinematic, over the top, or extremely emotional feel to it so a lot of the bands I like don't really have much to do with love.

Also Agalloch is some good shit.

Any song that references flight kind of naturally triggers thoughts of Erica in my mind, if I had to pick one at the moment it would probably be Hunting High and Low by Stratovarius. The way the vocals start off very relaxed and flowy and then pick up into an upbeat optimistic trot after the "Full of power I'm spreading my wings" line are reflective of her nature. Maybe i'm reading into it too much.

>Stratovarius

That's good stuff, really brings me back. Speaking of power metal this song, ESPECIALLY the lyrics remind me of her. The lyrics seem to be directly referencing 2D/fictional love at times even if we all know that is not the case.

-There on my way all alone, so alone, not alone

-Only with eyes of a pure heart
Maybe some day you can see me

-Under the skin innocence breathes
Inherent grace, free from this waste
Insight and pain - sacred romance

-There is a pureness that is so real reveals in my dreams
There is a beauty that I long for
Covered by shadows, yet it's there so close in my sight

The song also sounds pure (pun not intended) and beautiful so it all fits perfectly.

Introducing Erica to modern music was a lot of fun. After exploring my varied music library, she quickly gravitated towards the rock and metal sections. Eventually, it became clear that her favourite band was Iron Maiden, so I knew precisely which track to play her. She fell in love with the song and likes to play it loudly. This of course obligated me to learn the bass lines.

For Tezuka Rin, I always think of this Dutch song. I have written a translation of the lyrics, some bits in it are scarily accurate to the story in Katawa Shoujo. To sum up the song, it's about re-uniting with someone you were friends with, making love, and afterwards deciding to go back to the status quo and declaring that it's best for both to remain friends. The feeling of the song is what draws me in, the lyrics seal the deal.

Most importantly, this is likely my own imagination, but at 1:28 I can hear the SFX you hear when you're on the school rooftop and the wind blows in Katawa Shoujo.

I've been listening to a lot of music lately one of those being shoegazing rock, and it is brimming with a dreamy wavey sense of longing and beauty which immediately makes me think of Miyako. It can have different effects on me ranging from a feeling of pain in my heart to a tranquil sense of longing peace and beauty. There have been a lot of songs lately that have been making me think of her so I will just post the youtube link for the full album loveless instead of every song. While I think of her a lot, these are some of the other ones that really made me have a strong emotional connection to her:

My Bloody Valentine - Most of the album loveless, which is why I linked the full album.

Slowdive - Alison; When the Sun Hits

Nine Inch Nails - Something I can Never Have; A Warm Place

Aphex Twin - Xtal; I; Rhubarb

Aether - To Her

Secede - Friday Fall

Orbital - The Girl with the Sun in her Head

A.M. Architect - Unspoken

Ace da Brain - Magic Waters

The Cure - Plainsong; Untitled; Just Like Heaven; Lovesong

I may not be certain of much, but I am certain that my love for you is still growing. I hope it never stops.

Suddenly I turned around and she was standing there
With silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair
She walked up to me so gracefully and took my crown of thorns
"Come in," she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm."

Song 2, by Blur.

The "Woo-hoo!" always makes me think of Kagura's signature "Yahoo!" (Yeah, I watched the dub, come at me bro.)

Plus it's a good song to run to.

"I will find you
Anywhere you go, I'll be right behind you
Right until the ends of the earth
I'll get no sleep till I find you to tell you when I've found you -
I love you"

Music with a wider appeal than the stuff I usually tend to listen to, but it grows on me more every listen.

You know those times when you get a song stuck in your head?
Yeah, I've got that at the moment.

Mi metto là sul ciglio del colle
E aspetto gran tempo
e non mi pesa a lunga attesa.
...
Tutto questo avverrà,
te lo prometto
Tienti la tua paura -
Io con sicura fede lo aspetto.

This isn't my favorite performance but I like the animation that goes along with it. The multiple layers of irony of me posting this are absolutely not wasted on me. It's been a bad day. I love and miss you.

This one. It's quirky, cute and fun but also makes me feel relaxed, just like Doremi
