I don't have a waifu. But there is a certain 2D girl who's very important to me. It definitely goes deeper than the favorite character/"waifu" of your typical modern /a/ denizen, or the intense sympathy and identity with a fictional character of impressionable readers. I think about her an awful lot, and regularly daydream about spending time with her. But I don't love her, not in that way, at least I don't think. I haven't had any friends since I was a kid, so I don't really have a point of reference, but I think it might be how best friends feel. Anyone else in the same boat?

I can understand what you mean. I'm essentially friends with my waifu's friends, but my situation doesn't fully apply to yours, since I have a waifu and you do not.

I don't think that there is anything wrong with that, nor do I think it dilutes the board's focus. Friendship or love, I think all positive 2D relationships should be celebrated.
