The ED is delightful.

The episode length is just fine. I knew this will turn out to be a short the second I read the description but I was worried the eps will be literally 2min. 7 was enough to actually make me feel it was worthwhile.

You know, I'm a declared HanaKana hater but I do respect her voice acting ability (at least when it comes to voicing certain type of characters). But this time around I feel 120% justified in complaining about her. Absolutely abysmal performance. She was shit all around, it wasn't just a line or two. I'm impressed how much she managed to fail considering it's just a 7m short. If I were the director I'd tell her to redo at least 3/4ths of her lines. I'm usually watching shows for little girls with lots of rookies (or kids, really) but I have no idea when I last heard something this horrible. This was Mizuhashi Kaori in Canvas2 levels of bad. ... Well okay, it wasn't but I'm still impressed a veteran like her managed to churn out such a turd.

While I admire how they cleverly made me swallow five minutes of obscure facts about knitting, the episode made Yokoi sound more like a mad bitch who can't mind her own business and is envious of Seki's skills than usual. And that's annoying as hell, partly because Yokoi can be pretty annoying already and patly because I really wanted her to be a likeable character.
And there's no excuse to knit a stuffed toy that isn't an alpaca. A fucking cactus, really?

She initially badmouthed him because she thought he was an unrespectful amateur or, worst, a poseur; but once she realized that he was not only savvy but innovative on the matter (giving a refined but tired out technique a new possibility and meaning), she totally acknowledged his brilliance (as she always do) and admitted defeat.

Now, I know it's just light comedy and all but, personally, I'd like to see her falling for him at some point. I mean, it's all set: he is the one that can make her heart race and she is the one who can understand him (and, as noted before, she has quite the rack). Seki-kun falling for her is unlikely though: he has no need for it; his inner life is vast and rich; if anything, he might think she'd bother him.

Fine, saying she was envious of his skills missed the target by a mile, elitist prick is more like it on that matter. And her apology didn't convince me at all, she was just making a small concession so she could feel safe to lay out a claim to Seki's toy without her past skepticism of his craftsmanship burdening her conscience.
