1) what did you pick up?
2) what did you drop?
3) what did you keep?

no need to be verbose, however you do have that option, but please share you experience as it serves the purpose of possibly informing your TC peers hat they missed something good or are planning to watch something terrible.

I dropped gargantia for being boring SoL (you watch one you've seen them all), and I read ahead on attack on titan and the manga gets naruto level (chapter 43) and dropped the anime too. I was watching Railgun S but I dont watch index or read the manga, it just bored me and also dropped it.

If you were going to watch gargantia for the cool threads about the fighting civilizations that were posted on other chans, dont. Its has no actual fighting and its just the guy doing chores for 11 episodes. Attack on titan will be good for only the first few episodes, until it gets to secret hidden power and silly. I initially watched it to see humans win by just being clever and work past their flesh weakness, but if everyone has superpowers its just another lame shounen thing.

1) Only Yuyushiki and Oregairu, I'm not sure whether I ever picked up just two shows from a whole season.
2) Nothing, although I should've dropped Oregairu after 3 or so eps. Decided to keep going since I didn't have anything else to watch.
3) Oregairu wasn't worth it in my opinion. Tennis boy (and Hiyama, but Hiyama made like 3 appearances total) was super cute and made the show worthwhile at times but it wasn't enough to actually make it any good.
Yuyushiki on the other hand was spectacular, totally made up for lack of Yuru Yuri this year.

>>16146

Kind of sad to hear, I planned to marathon Gargantia any day now. Might still do it but my exceptations got a whole lot lower.
Also I'll put Hataraku Maou-sama on my backlog. I regret not picking it up while I still could; it looked like the initial premise will wear off after two eps tops but I heard the show didn't lose it's charm all the way through.

I picked up Yuyushiki, SnK, and Azazel-san Z. Didn't drop anything.
Yuyushiki's pretty good. It was a lot better than I expected, actually. I'm gonna miss it.
Azazel-san Z isn't as funny as the first season, but it's alright. The arc with the 48-faced freak saved it, in my opinion. That song, man.

>I initially watched it to see humans win by just being clever and work past their flesh weakness
That would've been great. I'm sticking with the anime and the manga, though. I want to see how it ends.

>what did you pick up?

Gargantia
Mjp
Valvrave
Crime Edge
Aiura

>what did you drop?

Nothing

>I dropped gargantia for being boring SoL

You don't know what slice of life means.

Episodic episodes (I'm sorry) are not slice of life.

Yuyushiki - adorable SOL

AIURA - I still don't get why Steve Jobs in the OP. Fun 5 min show though.

Miyakawa-ke - I had so much higher hopes for this being a Lucky Star spin-off but alas. Yamakan is at it again with his piss-poor directing.

Hataraku Maou - certainly one of the funniest shows this season.

chihayafuru - I loved the first season and the second season is just as good.

Railgun S - Slow at times but still good. I always did like railgun more than Index.

Shingeki no Kyojin - It's okay. I would recommend reading the manga though. The anime had some pretty terrible pacing.

Zettai Bouei Leviatan - I do enjoy cutesy moe fantasy even if it is such low-brow entertainment and it has little inherent merit.

Muromi-san - it's pretty fun, a middling show this season I'd say. Not the best, but not the worst.

Oreimo S2 - it has been pretty terrible mostly. I just want to see how it ends.

Aku no Hana - rotoscoping aside it's okay to watch. Again, I'm more interested in how it will end.

Nyaruko-san W - It's been pretty much the same as the first season but I'm enjoying the second more.

Gargantia - A failed attempt to bring SOL/mecha/drama together and the indecisiveness of what it wanted to be during the early and mid episodes has made it pretty disappointing.

-picked up

Yuyushiki,
best show of the season in my opinion, although I haven't enjoyed the recent episodes nearly as much as the first half of the show.

aiura,
it's a decent little show, but there just isn't much to say about it being so short. besides Steve jobs, I'm curious why the op has all that spider man stuff.

Kakumeki valvrave,
This one is not looking very promising. I wanted to like it but it's just so dumb.
If it turns out to be full of rape (which seems very possible) I'll drop it for sure.

railgun2,
whatever. don't much like or dislike this one, it's just whatever. I don't really care one way or the other about this one.

nyaruko2,
kind of the same with railgun 2, it's not bad but it's nothing special.

Namiuchigiwa no Muromi san,
amusing little show, it's not half bad.

-Dropped
Gargantia
when I found out who the director was I dropped it. even after learning he had a very small part in it over all, all the screen caps and discussion in the show's thread made me loose all interest. Also if I may, you can't call an anime a 'slice of life' if it has mecha space battles with aliens, dudes getting murdered, and pirates nearly raping chicks.

The only thing I picked up was Yuyushiki. I like it and plan on watching the entire thing.

Didn't drop any and only picked up like 3 this season. Maybe I will pick up some of the others at another point this year.

Picked Up and finished/finishing:

Yuyushiki - Great SOL, cute girls doing cute things very moe and calming. Maybe my favorite this season? The characters had very good chemistry, and I loved the whole computer class stuff. The yuri jokes were just in your face towards the end no idea if this is something I like or dislike.

Henati Ouji to Warawanai Neko - Still need to watch the last two episodes or so, but it was one of the moe-ist shows I have seen in a while in terms of lolitastic character designs and all that, MC was a really fun character too even if he is a major pervert. The '''drama''', albeit a little overdone at times, was nicely balanced out with the SOL stuff I love. The orange hair girl (I'm terrible with names) started off a bitch but luckily changed to be likeable around episode 3. A lot of the characters had that, were they started off unlikable but slowly got better. Art was A+ really well done. This is up there with Yuyushiki unless these last few episodes fuck it up.

Nyaruko-san W - Fun show, I like how the MC and Nyaruko are getting warmer with each other the fork jokes are old as fuck. The show is a bit repetitive though and the action sequences tend to be rather boring. I much preferred the character designs from season 1 to the way they did the eyes and all that in this one. This show had the best Eds of all the shows I have watched. https://www.youtube.com /watch?v=ldCoO1y69qk

Would it be worthwhile to wait for a BD batch release or just catch up with what's available?

It's up to you really. If you're that desperate to wait for a blu-ray batch release and quality means that much to you then do that otherwise just watch the show which is almost finished anyway (only 2 more eps to go).

It's a pretty lighthearted JRPGish-like fantasy show. It doesn't have a deep plot or any significant message but it has been pretty fun and relaxing to folow. The characters are adorable, the banter and jokes light hearted, and it's overall a pleasant relaxing show to switch your mind of and unwind to.

I wonder how I never heard of it before. picked up.
>> No. 16184 [Edit]
I think pretty much all good shows were sequels. Yuyushiki was only good non-sequel. I didn't drop anything and here is how I would rank shows I watched:

Favorites:
Nyaruko S2
Oreimo S2
Railgun S2 (so far)
Yuyushiki

Average:
Oregairu
Date-A-Live
Attack on Titan (production values are top notch but it is still average)

Shit:
Henneko
Devil Survivor
Aku no Hana
Photokano
Valvrave
Red Data Girl
Chihayafuru (S1 was much better)

Aiura - I really, really like this little SOL short about cute girls doing nothing. Sometimes I wish it was longer, but I'm not sure if it would work so well at 20 minutes.

Hataraku Maou-Sama! - Funny and charming, they've done a good job of keeping this fresh.

Suisei no Gargantia - It seems a bit unsure of what it wants to be and sometimes the pacing is a little off, but overall I think this has been pretty good.

Oreimo S.2 - A little more uneven than the first season, but I'm still enjoying it and the last two episodes have been great. I do think it's generally better suited to comedy than drama though.

Majestic Prince - Solid, if unspectacular mecha anime. The sort of show I enjoy at the time, but won't really remember a few years from now.

Valvrave - The only show I dropped this season, it just wasn't working for me and nothing I've seen about it since has made me regret my decision.

I'm also working my way through the Indexverse stuff at the moment, so will watch Railgun S when I get to it and I'll definitely be checking out Yuyushiki after seeing the universally positive opinions in this thread.

Same. Wasn't listed on the chart I used, otherwise I would've watched that. Backlogged.

I picked up Gargantia, Valvrave, Majestic Princes, and Kyojin. I dropped Attack on Giants pretty quickly after reading ahead in the manga and dropped that too after a couple of chapters. Sticking with Gargantia and Valvrave to see how they turn out. Princes isn't great either but it checks all the boxes I like and it's a fun show.

Picked up Hataraku Maou-Sama! and Yuyushiki based on this thread, these shows are great and I can't believe I missed them. Thanks OP.

Do we have anybody who is following the new Pretty Rhythm series (Rainbow Live)? If so, how is it compared to S1?
>> No. 18383 [Edit]
Date a live was average-shit, and the only way it redeemed itself was because of Kurumi. Arguably the most interesting character of the series. The rest were either bland, boring, or just plain unlikeable. If the show was centered on Kurumi frm the beginning, then it wouldn't be the generic harem shitfest that it is.

Tennis-boy should just get his own spin-off series.
