Decent show, I love how meta it is. The more time they'll spend discussing how nonsensical VNs are the better.

Will keep watching. Nothing specail I guess but somehow I look forawrd to it every weeks.

I didn't really like the OVA, but I just watched the first episode and it's OK.

If you watch the show, it is pretty obvious why Yozora doesn't have any friends. Machiavellian, sadist, troll, pragmatist. Those types normally don't have too many friends.

Sena wants a real friend. Not just someone that sees her as a sex object or "that popular girl that is cool to hang around."

Rika is... Rika.

Yukimura is Yukimura. While she is a stalker, she doesn't seem to have problems with friends as much as wanting to be closer to the MC.

Not sure about the others, but Kobato is probably slightly unstable and/or has self-esteem issues.

Why are people nitpicking at stuff like that in comedies that aren't supposed to make much sense? Okay, let's try this: the people you mentioned are way too shy/have too low self esteem to even consider something like that (especially if you consider who is in the club - a school idol and a well-known deliquent). Actually the fact that none of these people joined the club makes more sense than the other scenario.

although maybe not done intentionally, (or maybe not at all and I'm just full of crap) but I've recently started thinking that all the main characters of this show, kind of make up the different parts of the average TC user.

Like Kodaka, many of us might put off an intimating or scary(in one way or another) appearance to normals, but unable to hurt a sly in actuality.
Sena is kind of obvious, being obsessed with games and vns as she is, and a little bit of a lolicon, but also I'm sure many of us might be just as popular as she is, only online...
Yozora would represent how easily annoyed and cynical we can be, and hostile towards normals and popular people.
Like Yukimura, I'm sure many here enjoy dressing like girls, and also have the tendency to be a doormat in doing whatever is is people around us tell us to, even if we don't think that's the case at all.
and like Rika, well, who here isn't a complete pervert? She also, just as with Yozora, is so bothered by being around large amounts of people that it physically makes her sick.
Kobato, could possibly represent our being out of touch with reality, and obsessing over anime to the point of affecting one's normal life.
Maria just seems like a token loli to me, but I guess as with Kobato, they both might represent our desire to be cute little naive girls.

I suppose I would identify the most with Sena and Kodaka. I don't look or "act" anything like the stereotypical person that is into anime, manga, and whatnot. I've done like every sport in the book (but am generally good at wrestling, jujitsu, and discus) and I'm in several organizations on campus (like World Student Association, International Relations Organization, etc.). Was even voted for most popular and "best all around student" in high school.

I have a ton of associates, though few true friends that I can just be honest with. The closest are the guys I train with, but their lifestyles are way too wild for me.

The show is funny but relies on stereotypes rather than character backgrounds to explain their situations. These are the stereotypes I've concluded so far:

Kodaka: The foreigner, so he's automatically friendless.

Yozora: Social anxiety disorder and general misanthropist.

Sena: Arrogant and no one likes that.

Rika: Normal looking girl but her interests do not match those of typical girls her age, so shes a loser.

Yukimura: Girlyman.

Kobato: What is a moe-blob without a blatantly obvious incest theme. But wait, there's more, it's a loli who likes her brother.

Maria: Why is this character even here? I don't ever want to hear this voice actor again.

Well I don't find Yozora's cruelty funny at all, always bullying and trolling the most naive ones (and who never meant any harm to her), hitting them exactly where she knows that will hurt them the most just for the sick pleasure of doing it (or some personal grudge she can't cope with); it's not even about justice: she just wants revenge and takes it from wherever she can. if I was in Kodaka's position, I would have scolded her long ago.

About Rika being "a slut": it's not like she throws herself to every guy, is it? she made it very clear: Kodaka is the first mammal she's ever been interested on; she's just fell for him: she wants him, she decided to give herself completely to him and it's merely straightforward about it; I utterly prefer that in a girl, rather than some virginity worshiper who wants to wait for Haruhi knows what (I know I'm utterly alone with this around here, but hey: it's all about 2Ds, anyway).

About the mood of the show: c'mon... rather than just a harem, it's a variety show, with lots of anime archetypes put together for us to have our favourites and not, like we already do... And the entire show is VERY sexual, is not just Rika.

Yozora is fully justified in disliking Sena. At first it was probably because of her popularity and huge breasts, but now Yozora sees that Sena likes Kodaka and is getting closer to him than she is.

As for the Maria, she just doesn't like how loud, annoying, and stupid she is. She also probably doesn't like seeing Maria hurt Kobato's feelings.

The whole purpose of the club was so that Yozora could get closer to Kodaka. I have no idea if it was for friendship or for a relationship, however.

Sena and Yozora just need to fuck already. There's more sexual tension between those two than any other characters

Shitty last ep of a surprisingly good show. Not the best thing I've seen this year (or this season even) but it provided some laughs on weekly basis. I saw somewhere that listed this is the best fanservice show of 2011 so I started watching it last night. Sugoi so far, good comedy element as well. No waifus so far (except Nagata Yukiko), but this is quality.
