What is the one piece of classic Japanese literature that you would most like to see made into anime?

The Narrow Road of the Deep North is my pick.

A serious and faithful adaptation Heike monogatari (so no typical anime designs that use kawaii/deformed expressions), because I'm a sucker for historical epics and also because it'll save me the time from reading it myself. But I should really go read it since that'll never happen.
