On a second thought, does anybody here know how far ahead studios plan their projects? I guess it would make sense that Madhouse wouldn't say anything about the airdate if their planning only goes as far as one season ahead or something.

I thought the Japanese of all people would really be anal about schedules and such and would plan a full year ahead or something.

They plan VERY far ahead.

Start paying attention to when things are greenlit compared to when they are announced to air, it's usually a year or more in advance, sometimes two or three. Things being made within 6months of it being greenlit still happen though.
