I don't know where to post this but I think it belong here rather than in /mp3/.

I wanted to ask about your habits regarding music in anime in general. Do you listen to anime OSTs? If so, do you do it only every once in a while or is it pretty common for you to listen to an OST at least once? Do you ever bother with OSTs from shows you didn't watch? ... And stuff like that, I think you get the point by now.

I began to wonder about it since I was looking for some information about Tanaka Rie earlier today and I accidentally stumbled upon her new album and I thought I might as well listen to it. Do any of you actively follow albums by any seiyuu?

I love downloading and listening to anime OSTs, given that I was actually impressed by the music while watching a show. I prefer to listen to anime OSTs only from shows that I have watched, because it's more enjoyable when the songs I'm listening causes me to reminisce about certain scenes from the show. In terms of how often, I guess I'd say I listen to anime OST around 40% of the total time I spend listening to music. Maybe that's a lot compared to others but I really know very little about music and come from a family that doesn't really listen to music either so I don't know very many non-anime-related songs that I do like.

And no, I don't follow any seiyuu nor their albums.

I have the cowboy bebop and haruhi soundtracks. I also have the phoenix wright orchestral music, if that counts

Within my essential playlists, I have a one with the very best from my favourite anime OSTs. I listen to it constantly: I have it in my PC, laptop and cellphone; I'd get unease if I wouldn't know I can listen to it at any given moment. Some of the series the tracks came from are:

- Evangelion
- GITS
- Air
- Clannad
- Ef a Tale of Memories/Melodies
- Sola
- School Days
- Strawberry Panic
- True tears
- Kimi ga Nozomu Eien
- Jigoku Shoujo
- Koi Kaze

I used to listen to anime music all the time, but since I haven't really seen anything in about a year, I haven't listened to any OSTs. Coincidentally, I've also only been listening to trance music for about a year. I should probably branch out again.

I do listen to OSTs sometimes, especially if any of the songs in the anime stood out to me. It's not a super common thing though.

The only OST I listened to without having seen the show was Gundam Wing, because I think it was done by the same guy as Haibane Renmei, the reigning ultimate king of anime OSTs.

I honestly listen to OPs/EDs/image songs more than OSTs, which feels kinda dumb given how much I like video game OSTs. Anyway, Spice and Wolf has a good OST. And so does Hell Girl.

I only download OP and EDs that I actually like. I have a playlist for them which I listen to sometimes.

apart from that I have a couple of Evangelion soundtracks on CD and some Cowboy Bebop, K-On and FLCL OSTs on my ipod but I rarely listen to them.

no I dont follow albums by any seiyuu. I have all the time in the world and there still arent enough hours in a day to do everything I want.

I only listen for shows I enjoy. Much of these are older series with memorable sound tracks. Nothing the past few years has really been good, except for a couple exceptions.

I listen to anime OSTs sometimes but in this day of an OP, an ED and 18 tracks of incidental drivel I usually stick to the singles that come out for the series and stay away from the OSTs themselves; unless there are several OPs, EDs, & character songs on the soundtrack and provided that they are not the dreaded "TV-size" versions. I have occasionally picked up OSTs for series I'm not following if the music is being done by an artist I am a fan of, but that's a kinda rare occurrence - mainly due to the amount of stuff I watch every season.

There are a handful of seiyuu that I think have made the transition to music successfully. They're the obvious choices: Nana Mizuki, Kotoko, Aya Hirano, Yui Horie, Shoko Nakagawa, Yui Sakikabara. I think most of the records by these seiyuu stand by themselves as accomplished pop music and I do follow them pretty closely.
