Can we have a Berserk thread? I just started reading it despite hearing about it so much. I have to say, this is the only manga that made me speed through it because it was so damn interesting. I first thought it would resemble HnK because of some faint similarities but it turned into something I never expected. I feel so damn bad for Casca.
I liked it.
Why would you feel bad for Casca? She isn't dead at least. I feel most bad for Guts, all the shit he went through.
Its good, welcome to the waiting room.
In the meantime you might want to read some similar stuff, Claymore and Vinland Saga for example.
OP here. The main reason I started reading it was because people joked around about "[email protected]
Miura is actually a really great guy, judging by his author comments.
I don't think I've ever once seen someone post the original.
Wow, I didn't even realize the idolmaster one was a shop.
Oh, and if you're a fan of Berserk, you've got to check out the doujin, Shiru Shiru Shierke. Fantastic work for a mere doujin.
God damn, Miura is such a bro.
Great Manga. I am probably the only one that cried like a bitch when Flora died and Schierke cried though.
It was too big to be called a penis, it was more like a hunk of meat!
FUCK Why did I look at that spoiler?
Why are most females in this manga so damn attractive? It's like Miura knows how to make the best female characters. Caska, Farnese, Schierke, Luka, Sonia... etc etc.
They're all so perfect.
That was pretty good, thanks.
I can't believe this. They might actually get to Elfheim by the end of the year.
Maybe the world is ending.
You think so?
I found it a little confusing and worrying after the last chapter I read didn't have a date saying when the next chapter would be available and instead had either nothing or "soon".
Or has a new chapter come out recently?
Isn't the new chapter out?
The raws I mean.
I want the new chapter!
I had no idea that there was a new chapter 2 weeks ago. It probably wasn't posted on Manga Updates.
Thanks for making that post! I probably wouldn't never found out if you hadn't posted.
The new chapter should be out soon by the way.
Are they still on the boat?
In 331 yes.
New chapter is out!
Hmm, seems like we actually are on Elf island.
Now it just leads to the question of why Rickert is there with Erica I can't imagine why they'd leave Godo's place.
It sucks that the chapter ended during the fight scene. I want to keep reading!
Hmm, not a very good chapter for me.
Well, not much happened, so I can't blame you.
That would be strange.
I wonder if we will ever see again Jill and Theresia.
I wonder when the second movie will be released. I don't even care for subs at this moment, I just want to watch it.
The new chapter is near.
Why won't Guts be glad that Casca is getting her memories back? Is it because he'll find out that she enjoyed Griffith's dick more than she'll ever enjoy Guts?
I'm pretty sure that it's because she'll have to remember everything and the shock of it all might just do more damage to her than he wants her to go through.
Wouldnt it be pretty good if she just killed herself or something after she recovered her memories or something? Shes been the worst character by far ever since the Golden Age arc ended and only serves to disrupt the OTP GattsuxSchierke now.
That would be pretty amazing, but I feel most of the fans would go fucking angry because of that. If it weren't for retard Caska, ALOT of the events in Berserk wouldn't happen. Hell, I think the manga would be finished by now if it wasn't for that. Miura pretty much invested too much time in Caska to let her die easily.
I could see Caska killing herself. It would give Guts a reason to go for Griffith's head again. I don't know what he will do once he reaches that elf island, but I'll be okay even if we get an ending of Guts and Caska living there happily ever after. There's literally no way Guts can beat Griffith now unless he goes full monster and kills some of the gang.
There has to be some reasonable plot armor that can allow Guts to harm Femto or Griffith. Perhaps we will get a timeskip once he reaches Elf Island where Caska slowly copes with what happened to her, and Guts learn to control the Berserker armor + upgrading all his other skills. Whatever happens though, I hope Serpico will get some spotlight, positive or negative. I just feel like Miura put the whole gang together and well, their bonds don't feel as strong as I think Miura wanted to convey-- except for the much appreciated (in my opinion) attention to Shierke. I also think that there is a small detail that was presented to us over the course of Berserk that will prove to be important when it matters.
Guts can hurt Griffith/Femto. If you don't remember, there was an explanation of the Dragonslayer being imbued with the power to kill ethereal beings because of the fact that Guts killed so many creatures (humans, demons, apostles, etc.) with it.
The only thing that Guts needs is to get stronger since he most likely won't be able to touch Griffith as he is now. That's not even including the fact that Guts will have to fight Griffith's team of apostles.
As of right now, it is impossible to correctly guess what is going to happen since there are so many things that can happen with what has been shown. Guts so far wants to forget about revenge and just live a peaceful life with Caska, however the whole thing with the world changing has probably made Elf island uninhabitable.
There is one thing I have been wondering about. Fantasy creatures like elves, trolls etc. were all originally created by human imagination in the setting, right? Wouldnt that make everything possible in the new world order as long as humans believed in it? Kind of like Orks and Waagh! in 40k.
Say humans would wish for a human saviour after the whole Falconia business gets out of hand because of demons being demons, could that give the strength to Guts, the obvious candidate for being the hero in question, to topple the Godhand?
“Fantasy creatures like elves, trolls etc. were all originally created by human imagination in the setting, right?”
I don't remember this. I thought that they always existed, but, like, in another dimension or something until the "dimension" was broken by Griffith with the tree and the Skull Knight to let it pour into the real world so that Griffith could have his Falconia.
Yes, it's like this.
Can anyone tell me what the significance of the short flashback recently was? All I gather from it was that Guts was able to see a small plant spirit or something, and .... that's it. Was that supposed to equate to something now, or.... is it building up to something that'll probably be mindblowing later on?
Apparently Miura has started doing a mini series manga that will last 6 chapters that is called 'Gigantomakhia'.
So far it hasn't explained anything, but the loli is cute, and even though the MC seems to follow the 'idiot MC' thing, it could be good?
I guess that means that Berserk is on the back burner for a while longer.
Here we go again.
Freckles prostitute is pretty cute.
Luca is one of my favorite characters in Berserk.
I'm glad she and her friends are safe now.
It's almost hard to believe.
But now we're in hiatus T T
Well considering I'm literally obsessed with Griffith and Guts's relationship I wanted to initiate a discussion for it. I'm pretty sure Guts is straight, but I can't get over the feelings for Guts Griffith was implied to have. Anyway, I don't really trust my own judgement as I read homoerotic subtext into everything. So I was wondering what people generally interpret their relationship as.
Guts thought they were comrades.
Griffith thought they were kindred spirits.
